Korean Woman Abductee Returns Home
Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- To Chu Ji, Korean woman who had been abducted to Japan, came to Pyongyang Tuesday by air.
At the airport she had an emotion-charged reunion with her children whom she had so much longed to see.
She was interviewed by mediapersons at the airport upon her arrival here and at the DPRK embassy in Beijing and route to the homeland.
They were attended by mediapersons of the DPRK and China and foreign correspondents in China.
To Chu Ji was born as the third daughter of Korean father To Sam Dal and Japanese mother Miyoko Ishikawa in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan on Oct. 28, 1949.
She came to the DPRK together with her parents in 1960. She is a citizen of the DPRK.
At the interviews she explained how she, who was living in Pukchang County, was lured by bad guys into crossing the River Tuman against her will on Oct. 18, 2003 and how she was taken to Japan.
She said while living in Japan she as a mother of five children keenly felt that it would be quite worthless to live separated from them.
I felt stronger urge to reunite with my children and grandchildren when I heard news that they are still leading a happy life under the care of the Party, she said, and added:
I spent 3 years and 7 months in uneasiness after being taken to Japan as I heard everyday reports about murders including news of parents killing their children and vice versa and that the dead bodies of the elders who had been living without any support were discovered a few months later with the time and cause of their death remaining unknown. All these facts made me fear that if I had stayed in such country any longer, I might have died even before having the chance to reunite with my children.
When Japanese officials asked me if I had an intention to bring my children to Japan, I said no to them and told them that I should go back to the DPRK. I finally decided to go back to it after making up my mind to do so several times, thinking that even if I am to breathe my last, I should die by the side of my children.

Military Authorities Accused of Following U.S. War Policy
Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- Members of the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification in south Korea and other civic and social bodies and citizens in Maegok-myon, Yongdong county, North Chungchong Province reportedly called a news conference near the building of Taejon High Court on June 21 at which they demanded a stop to the construction of facilities for the disposal of unusable ammunition of the U.S. forces.
The speakers at the press conference accused the south Korean military authorities of building in Maegok-myon facilities capable of disposing 14,200 tons of unusable ammunition a year according to the "agreement" concluded with the U.S.
They strongly opposed the building of those facilities, holding that the operation of those facilities in Maegok-myon would seriously pollute the environment not only there but in all other areas of North Chungchong Province to do enormous harm to the citizens.
That day the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification issued a statement demanding the defense ministry of south Korea withdraw the plan to build a naval base on Jeju Island.
The defense ministry is keen to justify the building of the military base but it is nothing but an artifice to turn the island into a military stronghold, pursuant to the U.S. policy for a war of aggression, noted the statement.
It urged the military authorities to withdraw the above-said plan at once as it threatens the peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.
GNP's Anti-Reunification Actions Slammed
Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification in a statement on June 20 lashed out at the Grand National Party of south Korea for its attempt to foil the grand festival for national reunification marking the seventh anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration, according to a news report.
The statement recalled the fact that the meeting for national unity marking the above-said anniversary was delayed for two days due to the GNP's unreasonable behavior.
The GNP has persistently opposed reunification and cried out for a war but its lawmakers were so impudent as to insist that they should be invited to sit in the first row of the platform party of the meeting, obstinately standing in the way of its work, noted the statement.
The recent case brought the anti-reunification nature of the GNP to light once again, the statement said, calling on the youth and students to take the lead in the struggle to eliminate the anti-reunification forces such as the GNP and achieve the reunification, the desire of all Koreans.

Moves to Turn Japan into Military Giant under Fire
Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- "The Council to Examine the Constitution" of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan at its recent first meeting held at its head office openly declared that it would submit to the Diet the original bill on the "constitutional revision" which calls for turning Japan into a military power by the year 2010.
Meanwhile, F-2 fighters of the Air Self-Defence Force of Japan were busy flying in the air over Guam under the pretext of the joint military exercise with U.S. air force, thus making the first precedent in which Japanese fighters operated outside the territorial air of Japan.
Minju Joson today observes in a signed commentary carried in this regard:
This cannot but be a serious development, a grave threat to peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world as it goes to prove that the Japanese reactionaries' policy of militarist overseas expansion has begun assuming a potential danger.
It goes on:
The most noticeable in the above-said moves is the establishment of the missile defence system (MD).
The Japanese chief executive himself flew to the U.S. to agree with Bush on cooperation in the field of MD. The former is contemplating plugging even civilian enterprises into the development of technology in this field. All these facts go to prove that Japan is using every possibility to establish MD.
Japan is now inching closer to the development of nuclear weapons through a mock nuclear experiment based on computer technology without using a nuclear test ground.
What matters is that the Japanese reactionaries are justifying all these wrong doings under the pretext of the DPRK's deterrent for self-defence.
Their preoccupation is to turn Japan into a military giant as early as possible in a bid to contain its neighboring powers and emerge an Asian leader.
The DPRK can never remain a passive onlooker to this grave situation in which the dark clouds of war are gathering thick due to the above-said moves of Japan.
The Japanese reactionaries would be well advised to behave themselves, warns the commentary.
Japan's Moves to Evade Its Responsibility to Redress Past Crimes Assailed
Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- History can neither be distorted nor be denied. It is foolish of the Japanese reactionaries to persistently work to deny Japan's inglorious past history and justify it.
Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this in a signed commentary.
It goes on:
Germany declared it had completed the payment of compensation to those who had been forced to toil in the days of the Nazi regime during the Second World War. Japan, however, is becoming so foolish and brazen-faced as regards this matter quite contrary to Germany's behavior. The Japanese reactionaries have gone the lengths of asserting that the issue of the "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army has never existed and Japan has done nothing wrong.
These are the most shameless remarks aimed at tampering with history. And these outbursts can be let loose only by the Abe group bereft of ethics and morality and ignorant of the trend of the times.
The Japanese reactionaries are busy these days with the campaign demanding the removal of photographs showing massacres committed by the Imperial Japanese Army from the memorials of the anti-Japanese war in China, claiming they are meant to "distort" history. And they are floating the sheer sophism that Ulung and Tok islets had been regarded as "parts of the Japanese territory" in the then era of "Edo". All these are typical examples revealing the militarist character of the Abe group and its shameless and dastardly nature.
Japan should honestly admit its crime-woven history and compensate for it, abandon its military wild ambition and turn over a new leaf. This would be the only way for Japan to become a decent member of the international community.
Japan would be well advised to judge what is going on in the world in a sound way of thinking, honestly reflect on its crime-woven history and redress it just as Germany did, the commentary urges.
True Popular Art in Songun Era
Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- A joint performance was given by participants in the 10th contest of art groups of servicepersons' families of the Korean People's Army at the People's Palace of Culture in Pyongyang before full house.
The distinctive programs of various genres were run through with revolutionary optimism and emotion and reflected the life of servicepersons' families in a vivid and truthful way. The joint performance won accolade of the audience.
The poem recitation "The general and songs of servicepersons' families" impressively mirrors the deep care paid by Kim Jong Il who initiated the contest of art groups of servicepersons' families and led it as a model of the popular art as we see today.
Put on the stage were choruses "Blue sky over my country", "Song of Phyongbuk Nyongbyon " and "Song of sea" which are rich in national emotion, poem and story telling "Let's carry forward the traditions of Paektu", interlude "Answer of three servicepersons' families", jest "Let's bear in mind" and others.
The unique sounds of percussion instruments made by the art groups with bottles, jars, bowls and chopping boards made the audience feel their optimism and joy of life.
The true-story telling "Thank you, father general" and chorus "Our hearts are in the general" showed well the harmonious whole of the Supreme Commander and servicemen's families, leading the emotional world of the audience to the acme. Among the performers was Kim Yong Ok who has completely recovered the burns she had got during killing fires to protect trees bearing revolutionary slogans on Mujae Peak thanks to the warm care of Kim Jong Il.
The joint performance demonstrated the true feature of the popular art in the Songun era which has made a leaping development through the art group contests over the last ten years.
Korean Painting "Forcible Drafting"
Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- The Korean painting "Forcible Drafting" is on display at the Korean Art Gallery. It kindles the national indignation of the visitors against the thrice-cursed atrocities committed by the Japanese imperialist aggressors.
It was drawn by Ko Yong Phil, a department chief of Kaesong Art School (then) in Juche 91 (2002).
It lays bare the forcible drafting of the Japanese imperialists who search houses in a village and forcibly put Korean women on a truck on a cold winter day.
It shows a mother struggling not to be deprived of her daughter, a younger brother loudly calling his sister and rushing out with bare feet, a girl pushing aside rifle of Japanese aggressor and a grandfather coming out with a farm implement to knock down the invaders.
And the invaders are dragging out girls and a woman carrying her baby on her back by wielding bayonets.
The painting intensively reflects the miserable reality of Korea under the jackboot of the Japanese imperialists, with its formative arts and sustainable stream of the incident.
The Japanese imperialists kidnapped and forcibly drafted more than 8.4 million young and middle-aged men and 200,000 women of Korea as "comfort women" for their army during their occupation of the country.
Korean War full of Military Miracles
Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- The Fatherland Liberation War against the United States (June 25, 1950 - July 27, 1953) recorded the military miracles unprecedented in the world history of war.
When the war broke out, the world people apprehended how the two-year-old DPRK could hold in check the aggression of the U.S. imperialists who boated of being the "strongest" in the world.
But the war reversed the apprehension from the outset.
The Korean People's Army (KPA) who turned out in the righteous war against the invaders instantly went over to counter-offensive. It liberated Seoul, the den of the enemies, within 3 days and over 90 percent of the southern part of country after a month following the start of the war.
Seamen of the Navy of the KPA, with four torpedo-boats, sank to the bottom of the sea the heavy cruiser "Baltimore" of the U.S. imperialists and beat back a light cruiser in the sea off Jumunjin in the early July Juche 39 (1950).
A fierce battle took place on Wolmi Islet covering 0.66 square kilometers from September 13 to 15, 1950.
The Wolmi Islet defenders, armed with four guns, displayed the unparalleled bravery and self-sacrifice spirit in the battle with about 1,000 aircrafts, hundreds of warships and huge armed forces over 50,000 strong to delay the landing of the enemies in Inchon. They thus made a great contribution to ensuring the victory of the KPA in the war.
The U.S. imperialists who had boasted of their "victory" in more than 110 wars of aggression made every desperate effort to recover the heavy defeat they had sustained in face of the KPA.
The soldiers of KPA defended the Height 1,211 even in the "wave-like attacks" which the enemies mounted showering over 30,000 or 40,000 bombs and shells in a day. They took back the Height 351 only within 15 minutes, on which the enemies had built a strong defensive position for two years and more. All the miracles were beyond the existing militant knowledge.
Meanwhile, "B-29" aircraft about which the U.S. imperialists bragged as "fortress in the sky" were shot down by the heroic pilots of the KPA from the beginning of the war. The strategic aircraft were rejected from the order of combat at the end of being mobilized only into night bombing.
Under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung, the ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander, the KPA defeated the numerical and military technical superiority of the U.S. imperialists with its ideological and mental power and won the victory in the war, miracle of the 20th century on July 27, 1953.
