Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Friday sent a message of greetings to Malaysian King A1−Wathiqu Billah Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Ibni A1−Marhum Sultan Mahmud Al−Muktafi Billah Shah on the occasion of the 50th national day of Malaysia.
Kim in his message expressed his belief that the good relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and Malaysia would grow stronger in the future.
Greetings to Libyan Leader Gaddafi
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, today sent a message of greetings to Moammer el Gaddafi, leader of the Great September First Revolution of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, on the occasion of the 38th anniversary of the September First Revolution in Libya.
Expressing the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would continue to develop in the future, too, Kim wished the Libyan people greater progress and prosperity.
Pak Ui Chun Meets U.S. Guests
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- DPRK Foreign Minister Pak Ui Chun met and had a talk with U.S. guests on a visit to the DPRK at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Friday. They have brought with them emergency medical aid donated by the U.S. administration and civic organization "Samaritan's Purs" to help the DPRK recover from flood damage.
Kim Jong Il's Work Published in Venezuela
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il's famous work "On the Fundamentals of Revolutionary Party Building" was brought out in pamphlet by the Canta Clara Publishing House of Venezuela.
The work, published on Oct. 10, Juche 81 (1992), clarifies the historic lesson drawn from the building of a ruling party under socialism and fundamental principles for building a Juche-oriented revolutionary party and tasks for strengthening international unity and solidarity with revolutionary parties.
A book releasing ceremony took place at the head office of the Communist Party of Venezuela On Aug. 21.
Film Show Held in Russia
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- A Korean film "The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il pays an official visit to the Russian Federation" was shown with due ceremony by the Russian Cooks Association on Aug. 20 on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of his visit to the Russian Federation.
Present there were personages concerned and people from all walks of life. Staff members of the DPRK embassy in Moscow were present there on invitation.
The chairman of the association said that the film show offered an opportunity to know better about the undying exploits of Kim Jong Il who made a great contribution to boosting the Russia-DPRK friendship.
The DPRK could firmly defend its dignity and sovereignty as it built up its national power under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il, he noted, expressing the belief that the Korean people would achieve greater successes in building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation and the struggle for national reunification.
Experiment and Program Contests among Universities Held
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- Contests in mock experiments with the help of computers and practice programs among universities across the country took place at Kim Chaek University of Technology.
The events brought together at least 260 teachers and researchers selected at more than 50 universities across the country.
Presented at the contests were at least 180 mock experiments and practice programs which have been studied and introduced into practice.
Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry, Pyongyang University of Computer Technology, Pyongyang University of Medicine, Phyongsong University of Coal Mining and Nampho University of Agriculture and other universities proved successful at the contests.
Science and Technology Presentation Held
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- A national science and technology presentation in the field of environment preservation took place at the Grand People's Study House on Aug. 29 and 30.
It was held under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the Korean General Federation of Science and Technology on the occasion of the 30th founding anniversary of the Environment Preservation Institute.
Presented there were at least 140 valuable papers on the fresh achievements made in the researches aimed at improving and strengthening the environment preservation.
They included papers which dealt with scientific and technological problems arising in protecting water, atmosphere, soil and ecological environment, preventing pollution and effectively recycling and renewing a variety of industrial waste in recent years.
The participants also heard papers dealing with the research results of great value in protecting water, atmosphere and environment as they help provide better living conditions to the people and papers introducing scientific and technological ways of protecting and managing rare animals and plants, ecological environment and land resources and preventing land erosion and increasing the fertility of soil.
Successes made in applying IT and modern means of measuring to researches into the environmental preservation were appreciated by the participants.
Stop to War Exercises Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification in south Korea held the 71st meeting for peace and disarmament in front of the "commanding control office" of the south Korea-U.S. "Combined Forces Command" on August 28 and demanded a stop to the war exercises against the north, according to the Internet newspaper Thongil News of south Korea.
The speakers at the meeting said frantic military exercises to invade the north were being staged in south Korea according to the war rehearsal scenario of the United States.
The people who love peace and want reunification will wage a full-scale anti-war struggle in front of the "commanding control office" in the future in order to sound the alarm bell to the U.S. bringing dark clouds of war behind the curtain of "dialogue", they stated.
A resolution read out at the meeting demanded the U.S. and the south Korean authorities retract all the "operational plans" aimed at "the collapse of the north" such as the "Ulji Focus Lens" joint military exercises.
S. Koreans Urged to Struggle for Sovereignty and Dignity
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- Independence against the U.S. guarantees the sovereignty and dignity of the south Korean people and their genuine life and happiness.
Rodong Sinmun Friday says this in a signed article.
If a nation is trampled down by outsiders, deprived of its sovereignty, it will lose the worth of its existence and suffer humiliation and maltreatment, the article notes, and goes on:
The U.S. policy of occupation of south Korea is a policy for domination and subjugation.
The U.S. has wantonly violated the south Korean people's dignity and right to existence, after depriving them of their sovereignty through its policy of occupation for the last more than six decades.
When making a scrutiny into lots of "treaties" and "agreements" signed between south Korea and the U.S. one can hardly find any provision or point calling for respecting the sovereignty of south Korea and guaranteeing the rights and interests of its people. All of them are aimed to meet the unilateral demands and interests of the U.S. only.
The U.S. legalized and perpetuated its forces' presence in south Korea through the south Korea-U.S. "mutual defence treaty" and granted the aggression forces with extraterritorial rights through the south Korea-U.S. "SOFA," the document encroaching upon the dignity and interests of the south Korean people and seriously threatening their vital rights.
Since the very day of their occupation of south Korea the U.S. forces have taken the lives of a countless number of south Koreans, regarding them as animals and playthings.
The ulterior aim sought by the U.S. in staging together with the south Korean military forces the "Ulji Focus Lens" joint military exercises under the simulated conditions of war against the north is to realize its wild ambition to dominate the whole of Korea even at the cost of lives of tens of millions of south Koreans.
The reality goes to prove that the south Koreans will neither enjoy dignity and sovereignty nor escape the danger to their lives and properties as long as the U.S. imperialist aggression forces are allowed to stay in their land.
Foolish Anti-DPRK Campaign under Fire
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the National Reconciliation Council issued a statement Friday assailing the ”Association of Families of Abductees by the North during June 25 War," a right-wing conservative organization in south Korea, for working hard to refer "a resolution on abductees by the north" to the U.S. Congress in collusion with those Americans keen to hatch plots against the DPRK over the human rights issue.
The above-said attempt made by south Korean organizations keen on breeding plots against the DPRK over its human rights performance is a politically motivated grave provocation to it and a treacherous move and a premeditated and organized scheme to tarnish the image of the dignified DPRK and incite mistrust and confrontation between the north and the south, the statement said, and continued:
Such despicable farce staged by human scum only strips bare the miserable position of those who are marginalized in the present times and history, being censured and forsaken by the nation.
No one will pay heed to such clumsy anti-DPRK farce staged by the anti-reunification forces in south Korea in this June 15 era.
The above-said anti-DPRK human rights groups are now going on a rampage at the tacit connivance of the authorities.
The south Korean authorities are talking about reconciliation and cooperation while overlooking such rash acts of inciting confrontation with the north behind the scene. This leaves the DPRK skeptical about their real intention.
The south Korean authorities should own responsibility for the worsening anti-DPRK reckless acts and immediately stop the sinister campaign, pondering over the serious impact they will have on the north-south relations.
The U.S. had better stop instigating those keen on inciting confrontation with the DPRK to such disgraceful farce if it wants to save its face.
Cold-blooded Massacre of Korean People by Japanese Imperialists
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- The Korean people still curse the brutal slaughter of Koreans by the Japanese imperialists with the Kanto great earthquake as an occasion.
The earthquake which occurred in Kanto area on September 1, 1923, caused a serious socio-political crisis in Japan. In an attempt to avoid the crisis, the Japanese imperialists slew Korean residents in Japan en masse.
The Japanese reactionary government failed to take relief measures for the killed and wounded and other victims triggered off by the tremor. It evoked deeper discontent of the people with the government. In an effort to divert the attention of the people elsewhere, it concocted false rumours, saying that Koreans set fire and thus instilled national antagonism in the minds of the Japanese people.
The King of Japan declared a martial law by a "royal decree" and Rentaro Mizuno, then minister of home affairs, ordered to slay Koreans throughout the country through the Hunabashi Naval Radio Station in Chiba Prefecture.
Right-wing gangsters as well as soldiers and policemen desperately searched for Korean people and killed them in a cold-blooded method beyond the human imagination according to the dictate of the "martial law command."
Sakaguma Kikawa, a Japanese woman who witnessed the then slaughter, testified: "When a young woman was disemboweled, a six-seven-month old embryo wriggled. Seeing her genital organs being driven with a bamboo spear, I was stricken dumb and shrank back. Thinking that our fellow countrymen committed such cruelty, I had never felt disgraceful so much as a Japanese."
Kenjiro Arai, who was a policeman in the Honjo Police Station, Saitama Prefecture, had this to say: "Members of the self-defence corps and policemen pulled down children first from a truck and stood them in a row to behead under the eyes of their parents. And then, they roped the parents one by one on wooden wall and pillars to chop them with Nippon swords. Those with no sword sawed their limbs. …The floors of the police station having been turned into a sea of blood, one could not move even a step without boots."
Only in a few days towns and villages of Japan were drenched with the blood of more than 23,000 innocent Korean people.
The nefarious massacre is the tip of the iceberg out of the monstrous crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists against the Korean people.
The Korean people will certainly make Japan pay for the massacre committed by the Japanese imperialists in the bygone days.
River Taedong Crossing Competition Held
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- A national River Taedong crossing competition of school youth and children was held Friday to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the Young Communist League of Korea.
The competition brought together more than 1,200 boys and girls selected from Pyongyang and different provinces.
An opening ceremony was held at Kim Il Sung Square. A demonstration crossing by pupils of Pyongyang Namsin Primary School was held and the contesters crossed the river in groups towards the opposite bank where the Tower of the Juche Idea stands.

More than 170 Cases of Aerial Espionage Committed against DPRK in August
Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialist aggression forces and south Korean warmongers committed more than 170 cases of madcap aerial espionage against the DPRK by mobilizing strategic and tactical reconnaissance planes with different missions in August, according to a military source.
The U.S. forces perpetrated 110 cases of aerial espionage against the DPRK and the south Korean forces at least 60 cases.
On Aug. 30, a south Korea-based U-2 of the U.S. forces made a long shuttle flight to spy on all areas of the DPRK. A total of more than 20 cases of aerial espionage were committed by the plane this month.
The U.S. imperialists let two or three RC-12s fly in the air over areas along the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) to perpetrate aerial observation and photographing of areas of the DPRK every day.
An overseas-based E-3 flew in the air over south Korea to command flying corps involved in the air battle drills, while perpetrating madcap aerial espionage against the DPRK on Aug. 2, 7 and 16.
On Aug. 22 and 23 when the "Ulji Focus Lens" joint military exercises were at their height, the U.S. forces and the south Korean forces let 28 strategic and tactical reconnaissance planes including U-2, RC-12 and RF-4C fly in the sky above the forefront and areas along the MDL day and night for the purpose of perpetrating aerial observation, photographing and electronic reconnaissance of the whole area of the DPRK.
On Aug. 25 an overseas-based EP-3 was busy with day and night flight in the sky above the east and west coasts of south Korea with a mission to carry out search and electronic reconnaissance of the coasts and seabed of the DPRK.

CRPP rechaza criticas del "GPN" a la cumbre Norte-Sur de Corea
Pyongyang, 31 de agosto (ATCC) -- Tan pronto como se diera a la publicidad la informacion sobre el encuentro entre los maximos dirigentes del Norte y el Sur de Corea, Ri Myong Bak y otros compinches del "Gran Partido Nacional" del Sur de Corea dijeron que esta cita "no debe influir sobre las elecciones presidenciales" y "ha de servir para la apertura del Norte" y que hay que dejarla al proximo "gobierno".
En particular, desde el dia siguiente de su eleccion como candidato "presidencial" del "GPN", Ri pregona que "ese encuentro no debe ser empleado en fines electorales presidenciales" insistiendo en que "si se conversa con el Norte portando las armas nucleares, esto significaria la admision de las mismas" y "el Norte puede orientarse a la reforma y la apertura si renuncia primero a estos artefactos".
Al respecto, el portavoz del Comite por la Reunificacion Pacifica de la Patria (CRPP) emitio la vispera una declaracion que sigue:
Tal conducta resulta una locura de quienes andan enloquecidos por alcanzar su sucia ambicion politica sin tomar en consideracion el deseo de la nacion y la demanda de la epoca, siendo un imperdonable acto criminal en contra de la reunificacion y la nacion.
Historicamente, cada vez que se planteaba el problema del encuentro cumbre Norte-Sur, que reviste suma importancia para lograr la paz y la reunificacion del pais, el "GPN" lo rechazo obstinadamente y maniobro perversamente para estropearlo.
Pues, esa agrupacion piensa unicamente en el poder.
Dado que crece la atencion nacional e internacional al acuerdo Norte-Sur sobre ese encuentro de maximo nivel, por temor a que se quiebre su ambicion de tomar el "sillon presidencial", los politiqueros del "GPN" salieron a criticarlo y rechazarlo calificandolo absurdamente de una campana para "elecciones presidenciales".
Menos mal que los compinches de esa banda no quieren venir a Pyongyang.
Seria mejor que se ausente esa horda de traidores, que se dedican a envenenar el clima de la fiesta de reunificacion.
Inaugurado proceso de produccion de fertilizantes de Hungnam
Hamhung, 30 de agosto (ATCC) -- Quedo inaugurado el reconstruido proceso de produccion de fertilizantes del Complejo de Abonos de Hungnam.
El remodelado proceso posibilita ahorrar mucha cantidad de energia electrica y prevenir la contaminacion ambiental y sento una firma base para el incremento trascendental de la produccion de abonos.
En la ceremonia inaugural, que tuvo lugar este jueves en el mismo terreno, participaron Kim Yong Nam, Kim Yong Chun, el secretario responsable del comite del Partido del Trabajo de Corea en la provincia de Hamgyong del Sur, Hong Song Nam, y otros funcionarios.
En la ocasion fue transmitido un mensaje de felicitacion del CC del PTC enviado a los cientificos, tecnicos, obreros y funcionarios que acumularon meritos laborales en la obra de reconstruccion.
El mensaje evalua altamente a los participantes en la obra por haber construido otra gran creacion que contribuira a la prosperidad de la patria socialista.
El gerente del complejo Kong Sung Il, en su informe de apertura, subrayo la necesidad de normalizar en un alto nivel la produccion de fertilizantes para contribuir sustancialmente a la construccion de una gran potencia prospera.
Venezuela: obra de Kim Jong Il en folleto
Pyongyang, 31 de agosto (ATCC) -- La Editorial Cantaclara de Venezuela dio a luz en folleto la obra maestra del Dirigente Kim Jong Il "Problemas esenciales de la construccion del partido revolucionario", publicada el 10 de octubre del 81 (1992) de la Era Juche.
Esta obra da cuenta de la leccion historica sacada de la construccion de los partidos gobernantes socialistas, el principio principal de la construccion del partido revolucionario jucheano y las tareas para fortalecer la unidad y la solidaridad internacionalistas entre los partidos revolucionarios.
Una ceremonia de edicion del trabajo tuvo lugar el 21 de agosto en la sede del Partido Comunista de Venezuela.
Proyectado documental coreano en Rusia
Pyongyang, 31 de agosto (ATCC) -- Con motivo del aniversario 6 de la visita del Dirigente Kim Jong Il a la Federacion Rusa, tuvo lugar el 20 de agosto en la Asociacion Rusa de Cocineros la proyeccion del documental coreano "El gran Dirigente, camarada Kim Jong Il realiza visita oficial a la Federacion Rusa".
En la ocasion participaron las personalidades y masas de las unidades correspondientes y fueron invitados los miembros de la embajada coreana en ese pais.
El presidente de esa entidad culinaria dijo que esa pelicula le hizo conocer mejor de las hazanas inmortales del respetado Dirigente Kim Jong Il quien realizo gran aporte al fortalecimiento y desarrollo de la amistad entre Rusia y Corea.
Corea pudo defender con firmeza su dignidad y soberania porque ha consolidado el poderio nacional bajo la guia del Songun (priorizacion militar) del Dirigente, anadio y expreso su conviccion de que el pueblo coreano lograra mayores exitos en su lucha por construir una gran potencia prospera socialista y reunificar la patria.
