Congratulations to Malaysian Prime Minister
Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Il, premier of the DPRK Cabinet, sent a congratulatory message to Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi upon his reelection as prime minister of Malaysia.
In the belief that the bilateral ties of friendship and cooperation developing on good terms as the days go by would grow stronger in the mutual interests of the two peoples in the future, too, the message sincerely wished the prime minister great success in his responsible work.
Taedongjiji, National Documentary Relic
Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- Taedongjiji is a typical geographical book of Korea compiled in 1864 by Kim Jong Ho, a progressive scholar of the "practical school" and geographer who was well known to the world for his Korean map Taedongyojido (map of the great land in the east).
Taedongjiji conveyed till today consists of 15 transcribed books of 32 volumes. The author, basing himself on the analysis and arrangement of Phaldojiriji (geographical book of eight provinces), Sejongsilrokjiriji (geographical book attached to the True Records of King Sejong) and other geographical books which had been published earlier, consummated the achievements in the geographical studies of Korea, thus developing them onto a new, higher phase.
The book deals with the political, economic, military and other fields of the country--Seoul and local administrative districts from province to hyon (sub-county), historical and geographical changes, topographies of mountains and rivers, seas and islands, defence setups, traffic, communication and transport networks, farm land, irrigation facilities, distances between neighbors, local special products, beauty spots, figures, customs, religions, culture and historic relics.
It also contains departmental geographies, geographical changes of the successive dynasties from Ancient Korea (early 30th century B.C.-108 B.C.) to Koryo (918-1392) and detailed and graphic data that the author collected through survey and measurement.
Taedongjiji, a precious documentary relic, not only clearly shows the highly developed geographical development of the Korean nation but also is helpful to researches into various fields.
Rare Plants Strike Roots Everywhere
Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- The Central Botanical Garden is pushing ahead with an energetic work to disseminate rare plants all over the country in the current tree-planting season.
These rare plants are gift plants presented to President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il by heads of party, state and government of different countries and public figures of various circles.
The botanical garden consolidated the material and technical foundations of the nurseries for a better cultivation of rare plants and met scientific and technical requirements in securing of seeds, germination and nursing of saplings and thus nursed saplings suitable to the local conditions.
In recent years, the botanical garden sent more than 50,000 saplings of edible fruit trees, ornamental trees and flowering plants of 110-odd species including Krasnoshekii, Castanea crenata cv. (Torihei, Ukonho and Tsukuba), Elaeagnus multiflora var. hortensis to Pyongyang, South Phyongan, South Hwanghae, Kangwon, North Hamgyong and other provinces and to institutions, industrial enterprises, farm villages and schools.
The rare plants imbued with reverence for the peerless great men have taken roots everywhere, acclimatized to the Korean climate and soil by the devoted efforts of the researchers and horticulturists of the Central Botanical Garden.
KCNA Blasts Japan's Diplomacy for Increasing Pressure upon DPRK
Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the Japanese authorities invited Israeli Prime Minister Olmert and other riffraffs to have a confab on measures to cooperate with one another in increasing pressure on the DPRK over the non-existent "threat of nuclear proliferation" from the DPRK.
The falsity of the "story about the threat of nuclear proliferation from north Korea" has already been brought to light as it is nothing but a plot hatched by the hostile forces of the U.S. to hamstring the efforts to seek a peaceful settlement of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula and improve the DPRK-U.S. relations.
Clear is the reason why Japan is becoming so vociferous about the above-said fiction.
This can be explained by the fact that Japan is now in such a miserable position as to come under the pressure to pull out of the six-party talks for having behaved in a mean manner without fulfilling its commitment.
It has gone the lengths of echoing the "fiction about the threat of nuclear proliferation from north Korea," after peddling the "abduction issue." This reminds one of a drowning man trying to catch at a straw.
The foolish behavior of the Israeli prime minister is arousing the derision of the international community.
He dared term the DPRK part of the "axis of evil" threatening the stability in Asia and Mid-east. Now that Israel is condemned by the international community as a harasser of the Mid-east peace and a cancer-like entity, what Olmert uttered is nothing but nonsense talked by the guy who does not know where he stands and is ignorant of the trend of the situation. Japan is in such poor shape as to negotiate with such good-for-nothings over the "threat" from someone and "cooperation in increasing pressure."
No matter how desperately Japan works to deter the six-party talks from making any progress, it will only do harm to itself.
Chance does not always present itself for Japan. No one can vouch that Japan will always remain a partner in the process of settling the issue surrounding the Korean Peninsula as it is persistently pursuing its hostile policy toward the DPRK.
U.S. Moves to Dominate World under Fire
Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is contemplating building ultra-modern type nuclear-powered carrier "Ford" equipped with a new take-off system by spending a stupendous amount of fund, according to the "Janes Defence Weekly".
Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes:
The U.S. plan to build the above-said carrier is aimed at establishing unchallenged military supremacy and carrying out its strategy for world domination by force.
It is the invariable ambition and strategy of the U.S. imperialists to dominate the world by force.
The U.S. has an unchallenged edge in terms of military hardware.
It is putting spurs to the moves to militarize the space, too, in a bid to realize its wild ambition for world domination.
Its ulterior motive is to secure the capability to establish a military monopoly on the space and strike any area any time.
To this end, the U.S. has attached great strategic importance to the establishment of the missile defense system.
It is the intention of the U.S. to destroy satellites of other countries by using means for shooting down satellites in case of "emergency" in a bid to go unchallenged in the space.
The U.S. imperialists' reckless military hysteria is sparking off a new Cold War and arms race on the earth, increasing the danger of war and putting world peace and security at peril.
The U.S. would be well advised to face up to the trend of the changed world and the situation and stop its reckless military moves.
Struggle for Pullout of U.S. Troops from S. Korea Urged
Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- The United States is getting evermore pronounced in the moves to intensify its military occupation and control over south Korea contrary to the Koreans' strong will for national independence and their desire for national reunification and thus realize its anachronistic design for aggression on the DPRK at any cost.
Rodong Sinmun in an article today cites data to disclose such moves.
Pointing out that the GIs present in south Korea, a field executor of the U.S. hostile policy for aggression on the DPRK, are a cancer-like entity blocking the Koreans' patriotic struggle for national reunification, the article says:
The U.S. has frantically increased the combat capacity of its troops in south Korea, the main means for materializing the above-said policy, since the very day it occupied south Korea.
The U.S. arms buildup and risky war provocative moves in south Korea are entirely a revelation of the said policy.
The U.S. troops in south Korea are the root cause of the misfortune and sufferings the Korean nation is undergoing, and a cancer-like entity obstructing the co-prosperity of the nation as their presence is illegal and for aggression.
60 odd years of the U.S. troops' presence clearly prove that they are not a "friend" but an aggressor and plunderer and a cancer-like entity blocking the Korean nation's independent reunification, peace and prosperity.
In south Korea today there are many U.S. military bases, a hotbed of all sorts of terrible crimes, and it has turned into the biggest arsenal and advance base for nuclear war in the Far East, where huge latest type war means and equipment including various types of nuclear weapons are deployed.

Joint Military Exercises Assailed by S. Korean Organizations
Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- Members of the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification and civic and public organizations in Kyonggi Province of south Korea staged a protest against the joint military exercises of the war-like forces in front of the drill ground of the U.S. forces in Phochon on March 8.
The participants condemned the U.S. and south Korean bellicose forces for staging there a final coordinated drill of the marine corps as part of the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises.
Accusing the bellicose forces of persisting in the joint military exercises despite the unanimous protest and denunciation of the public at home and abroad, they branded the war maneuvers aimed at invading the DPRK as dangerous ones threatening peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Struggle for Women's Rights Declared in S. Korea
Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- A rally of south Korean women workers was held outside the Seoul City Office on March 8, the International Women's Day.
A declaration, read out at the rally, said that it is quite natural for women to turn out in the struggle to build a world where everyone can enjoy an equal right without distinction of sex.
It stressed that they will struggle for women's political rights, the abolition of part-time jobs and the enforcement of equality policies in labor, cultural and all other realms of society and for achieving peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula by the efforts of women in the south and the north.
DPRK's Stand on Denuclearization of Korean Peninsula Appreciated
Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- A meeting of the British-DPRK All-Party Parliamentary Group was held in London on Mar. 4.
Attending it were members of the group, members of the House of Lords and members of its Committee of Foreign Affairs, officials of the Foreign Office and figures from academic and media circles.
Present on invitation were the DPRK ambassador to the U.K.
Speeches were made there.
David Alton, chairman of the group, said that he supported the expansion of the cultural exchange between the U.K. and the DPRK, adding that he would make positive efforts to this end.
Williams, advisor to the prime minister on the nuclear issue, positively appreciated the DPRK government's stand on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and expressed the U.K.'s critical view on the U.S. administration's policy toward the DPRK.

ATCC comenta vil aspecto del estorbador
Pyongyang, 12 de marzo (ATCC) -- Hace unos dias, las autoridades japonesas y otras gentuzas como el premier israeli, Olmert, entablaron conciliabulo de tomar las medidas de cooperacion en ejercer presion sobre la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea al hablar de la "amenaza de la proliferacion nuclear" de esta.
Ya fue revelada claramente la absurdidad de la "teoria de amenaza de la proliferacion nuclear del Norte de Corea" que fraguaron las fuerzas hostiles estadounidenses para obstaculizar la solucion pacifica del problema nuclear de la Peninsula Coreana y la mejora de las relaciones RPDC-EE.UU.
Tal es el hecho. Pero, el pais isleno sigue esgrimiendo tal teoria.
Ahora, Japon esta a punto de ser expulsado del lugar de las conversaciones a 6 bandas por ocuparse de actos malsanos en vez de cumplir sus misiones.
Para liberarse de tal situacion miserable en que se halla charlotea de "teoria de la amenaza de la proliferacion nuclear del Norte de Corea" al cabo de portar obstinadamente el ya resuelto "problema del secuestro".
Tambien, el acto indiscreto de Olmert choca con la burla de la sociedad internacional.
El califico a Corea del "eje del mal" que amenaza la estabilidad de Asia y la region del Medio Oriente.
Israel es objeto de repudio de la sociedad internacional como perturbador de la paz del Medio Oriente. Es decir, el premier Olmert es ignorante de la corriente de la epoca y de la situacion en que se halla su pais.
Es miserable la conducta de las autoridades japonesas que hablan de la "amenaza" y "cooperacion de presion" con tales gentuzas.
Seran daninos a si mismo los esfuerzos desesperados de Japon por obstaculizar el avance de las conversaciones a 6 bandas.
El tiempo transcurre.
No hay garantia de que Japon quedara indefinidamente en el proceso de la solucion del problema en torno a la Peninsula Coreana al aferrarse tercamente a la politica hostil a Corea.
Entidades surcoreanas condenan los ejercicios militares conjuntos
Pyongyang, 12 de marzo (ATCC) -- Los hombres partidarios de la paz y la reunificacion del Sur de Corea e integrantes de las entidades civiles y sociales de la provincia de Kyonggi se congregaron el dia 8 frente al campo de entrenamiento de las tropas yanquis en Phochon para protestar los ejercicios belicos conjuntos.
Los participantes condenaron a EE.UU. y las fuerzas belicistas surcoreanas que desarrollaron en ese lugar el ultimo ejercicio combinado de los cuerpos de marines como colofon de los ejercicios militares conjuntos "Key Resolve" y "Aguilucho".
Las fuerzas belicistas siguen realizando esas maniobras militares desoyendo la unanime protesta y denuncia de la opinion publica interna y externa, senalaron y afirmaron que estos ejercicios belicos para agredir al Norte de Corea resultan un gesto muy peligroso que amenaza la paz de la Peninsula Coreana.
