Art Performances Given in Honor of Guests
Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- Guest performances of the 1st National Art Festival Commemorating the Day of the Sun were given at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre and the Central Youth Hall here Wednesday.
The performances were appreciated by senior party and state officials, chairman of a friendly party, officials of ministries and national institutions and working people in the city.
Put on the stages of the performances given by art squads and itinerant art squads participating in the festival were colorful numbers representing the revolutionary passion and stamina of the Korean people.
Through such numbers as wind instrumental music and song "Long Live Generalissimo Kim Il Sung" and chorus "Let's Sing of the Day of the Sun" the performers loudly sang of the glorious revolutionary career of President Kim Il Sung who performed the great exploits for the country and the people.
Also in instrumental music and song "General on a Galloping White Horse", solo and story-telling "Arirang of Chol Path" and other numbers, they highly praised the undying Songun feats of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, an illustrious commander of Mt. Paektu who is successfully carrying forward and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of the President who is praised as the sun.
Art Festival Participants Enjoy Amusement Games
Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- The participants in the First National Art Festival Commemorating the Day of the Sun enjoyed amusement games in Rungrado Pleasure Ground on April 15.
The games took place, divided into two teams; "Myohyangsan" and "Kumgangsan". Among their colorful events were running with a ball between foreheads, running after taking a ball jumped from a board, finding persons, and blindfolded ring-throwing.
In the interval of the events, acrobats displayed their wits and children gave performances of dances, adding to the mood of games.
Schoolchildren's Camping Starts
Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- This year's camping started at children's camps across the country on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
A ceremony took place at the Mangyongdae Children's Camp on April 15 to receive its campers.
At the ceremony the reporter and speakers said that thanks to the warm love of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, happy laughter of schoolchildren can be heard at camps wonderfully built in scenic spots of the country.
They called upon campers to further train their bodies and minds and consolidate their knowledge gained at schools through diverse activities including mountaineering, expedition and plant collecting.
Meanwhile, similar ceremonies took place at other camps including the Songdowon International Children's Camp and Sokam, Yonphungho and Soho children's camps.
Officials of provinces, cities and counties congratulated schoolchildren upon their entry into the camps on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
The campers spent the first day of their camping pleasantly and significantly, enjoying colorful sports and cultural and amusement games.
Reception Given
Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- The Korean Social Scientists Society hosted a reception in honor of the visiting delegations and delegates of Juche idea study organizations at Pyongyang Koryo Hotel on April 15 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
Present there on invitation were Kenichi Ogami, secretary general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, and his party and delegations and delegates of Juche idea study organizations from different countries and regions.
Chairman Choe Sang Sun and members of the society were on hand.

Lee Myung Bak's Sycophancy toward U.S. under Fire
Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- Lee Myung Bak of south Korea is kicking up an anti-DPRK nuclear racket, asserting whenever a chance presents itself that "priority" should be given to "strengthening" of relations with the United States and the "north's nuclear issue" can be solved only through the south Korea-U.S. cooperation. Meanwhile, he zealously fawns on Japan, talking about "mature relations" or "future-oriented relations" with it, the relations that disregard the unprecedentedly heinous crimes the Japanese imperialists committed in the past.
Commenting on his behaviors, Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says:
He attaches such unreasonable conditions as "no nukes and opening" to the relationship with the fellow countrymen while devotedly making eye at the aggressive outsiders. This is the true nature of traitor Lee.
As for Lee, he is a foul pro-American sycophant, as he became a faithful adherent to "pragmatism" advocated by the U.S. while engaging himself in money-making business long ago, and a diehard moneygrubber and a swindler.
He has been so imprudent to claim that south Korea would help the north to get the per capita income to 3,000 dollars if it abandons its nuclear program and "opens" its door. This is nothing but imitation of the anti-DPRK policy pursued by the U.S. hard-line conservatives seeking to stifle it while forcing it to dismantle its nuclear program first.
The Lee Myung Bak group should have drawn a lesson from the reality that the Bush administration came out to dialogue with the DPRK, being aware of the fact, though belatedly, that the U.S. hard-line confrontation policy could not work on the DPRK. But they are recklessly rushing about, not knowing what is the right or wrong, as they lack political career and are seized by improper desire.
If he was going to do something as the chief executive, he should have done things helpful to the trend of times.
However, he has repeated the wrong policy of the U.S. hard-line conservatives because he has no proper political idea but depends on foreign forces. It is clear that such behavior would derail the inter-Korean relations and have bad effect on the situation in and around the Korean Peninsula.
The Lee Myung Bak gentries would be well advised to act with discretion if they do not want to be condemned as pro-American sycophantic traitors going against the desire of the nation and the trend of the June 15 era of reunification forever by all the countrymen.
April Holidays of DPRK Observed
Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- Rallies, friendly meetings, photo exhibitions and film shows were held in Mongolia, France, Pakistan, Switzerland, Kyrgyzstan and Iran between April 4 and 9 to commemorate the Day of the Sun, the 15th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and the 76th birthday of the Korean People's Army.
The chairman of the Mongolia-Korea Friendship Society said at the rally that President Kim Il Sung is the greatest man who led the two wars against imperialism to victory to defend the sovereignty of the country and built a powerful socialist country independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence.
The international secretary of the Central Committee of the French Revolutionary Communist League and other speakers said that the President was a great leader who built socialist Korea and led the Korean people to victory and that his great exploits are being successfully carried forward by Kim Jong Il.
The chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee stressed that Kim Jong Il has turned the DPRK into a political and military power by developing in depth the Songun idea founded by Kim Il Sung and pursuing the Songun policy. His Songun policy serves as an all-powerful treasured sword for smashing the imperialists' moves against the DPRK and firmly guaranteeing the peace and security of the Korean Peninsula, he said.
The participants of the film shows watched Korean films "They Are Together on the Way of the Great Songun Leadership" and "The Fatherly Leader among Children".
Congratulatory messages to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the rallies held in Mongolia, Pakistan and Switzerland.
Kim Il Sung's Feats Praised
Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- Abani Roy, secretary of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Socialist Party of India, released a statement on April 9 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
The statement noted that the Korean revolution has registered victory after victory in each stage of its long history under the banner of the great Juche idea and the Songun idea, thus bringing about the dawn of a great prosperous powerful nation.
Stressing that President Kim Il Sung made such history of invincibility of the Korean revolution that goes on century after century, it said:

Day of Sun Commemorated in Mexico
Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- The Mexican Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea released the 16th issue of its bulletin titled "Human Cause of Independence and President Kim Il Sung" on the occasion of the Day of the Sun. The bulletin carried a photo showing the Korean people visiting the statue of the President on Mansu Hill.
In an article the bulletin noted that the President set a practical example of national liberation struggle in colonial countries and rendered the positive assistance to the national liberation struggle of the oppressed peoples in the world and energetically led the world socialist movement under the uplifted banner of socialism.
It stressed that the President who performed the undying feats in the human cause of independence would live forever with the cause of independence that steadily advances century after century.
The Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism released the fourth issue of its bulletin entitled "Eternal President Kim Il Sung", which carried a picture of people from all walks of life visiting the Kumsusan Memorial Palace.
The bulletin said in an article that the idea and exploits of the President serve as a textbook of life and struggle for peoples in many countries aspiring after sovereignty, independence and socialism and as a precious mental asset common to mankind.
Saying that he was an outstanding revolutionary and a noble human being and he is always alive for his distinguished personality as a great man, it praised his noble and great personality.

Kim Jong Il recibe titulo honorifico de entidad rusa
Pyongyang, 16 de abril (ATCC) -- Tuvo lugar el dia 15 en el Palacio de los Congresos Mansudae la ceremonia de entrega del titulo de Academico de Honor de la Academia Internacional de Cultura y Arte que concede al Dirigente Kim Jong Il el Fondo Internacional de Caridad "Protectores del Arte Secular" de Rusia.
En el acto participaron Kim Yong Nam, presidente del Presidium de la Asamblea Popular Suprema de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea, Kang Nung Su, ministro de Cultura, Kung Sok Ung, viceministro de Relaciones Exteriores, Hong Son Ok, presidenta de la Asociacion de Amistad Corea-Rusia y vicepresidenta del Comite de Relaciones Culturales con el Extranjero, y otros funcionarios.
Tambien estuvieron presentes los miembros de la delegacion del Fondo Internacional de Caridad "Protectores del Arte Secular" de Rusia presidida por su presidente Oleg Oleinik, el embajador Valery Sukhinin y otros miembros de la sede diplomatica rusa en Corea.
Al hacer uso de la palabra en el evento, Oleg Oleinik dijo que su entidad decidio otorgar ese titulo honorifico al General Kim Jong Il en ocasion de su cumpleanos de este ano.
Prosiguio que esto deviene la mas alta evaluacion sobre las grandes hazanas del Dirigente realizadas para el desarrollo de la cultura y arte del mundo.
El camarada Kim Jong Il, verdadero protector del arte, hace un enorme aporte al desarrollo de las tradicionales relaciones de amistad entre los pueblos de Rusia y Corea, subrayo.

Prosiguen funciones de convite del Festival Artistico Nacional
Pyongyang, 16 de abril (ATCC) -- Tuvieron lugar este miercoles en el Gran Teatro de Pyongyang y en la Casa Central de la Juventud las funciones de gala en el marco del primer Festival Artistico Nacional por el Dia del Sol (15 de abril, cumpleanos del Presidente Kim Il Sung).
Las presenciaron los cuadros del Partido y el Estado, el presidente del partido amigo, funcionarios de los ministerios y organos centrales y trabajadores capitalinos.
En escenas de las funciones conjuntas de los grupos de propaganda artistica y de agitacion artistica movil se presentaron variadas piezas que muestran la pasion e impetu revolucionarios del pueblo coreano.
En la musica de instrumentos de vientos y cancion "Viva el Generalisimo Kim Il Sung", el coro "Cantemos el Dia del Sol", etc., los ejecutantes describieron la gloriosa vida revolucionaria del Presidente Kim Il Sung quien realizo grandes hazanas ante la patria y el pueblo.
En la musica instrumental y cancion "El General corre a caballo blanco", el solo y la narracion "Arirang del pico Chol" y otros programas elogiaron apasionadamente las proezas del Songun (priorizacion militar) del General Insigne del Paektu Kim Jong Il quien lleva a feliz termino la causa revolucionaria del Presidente, la del Sol.
Rodong Sinmun condena servilismo a EE.UU. de Lee Myung Bak
Pyongyang, 16 de abril (ATCC) -- El diario Rodong Sinmun publico este miercoles un comentario individual condenando el excesivo servilismo del "presidente" surcoreano Lee Myung Bak a las fuerzas extranjeras agresoras.
Cada vez que se le presente la ocasion, Lee jura "fortalecer" y "dar prioridad" a las relaciones con Estados Unidos y anda enloquecido por la campana nuclear anti-RPDC diciendo que el "problema nuclear del Norte" sera resuelto tambien mediante la cooperacion con ese imperio, comienza el comentario y continua:
Igualmente, esta adulando demasiado a Japon senalando que las relaciones con este pais son "maduras" y "se orientan al futuro".
Ese sucio elemento proyanqui, tacano y estafador se hizo partidario de la filosofia del "pragmatismo" de EE.UU. dedicandose a los negocios desde joven.
El dijo que si la RPDC renuncia a sus armas nucleares y acepta la "apertura", haria subir el ingreso per capita de ella a 3,000 US$. Esto no pasa de ser una copia de la politica hostil a Corea de las fuerzas conservadoras intransigentes de EE.UU. que tratan de atropellarla imponiendo la "renuncia nuclear, primero".
La banda de Lee debio aprender la leccion de la administracion Bush que tuvo que recurrir al dialogo al comprender con tardanza que es imposible resolver el problema con la RPDC mediante la politica conflictiva e intransigente.
Pero, Lee, falto de experiencias politicas, actua irrazonablemente proponiendose metas irrealizables.
Si el quiere hacer algo como mandatario, seria mejor analizar bien la tendencia y hacer cosas utiles a esta.
Sin embargo, como que Lee no tiene su propio ideal politico y mantiene su vida apoyandose en las fuerzas foraneas, presenta como politica las insistencias absurdas de las fuerzas conservadoras intransigentes de EE.UU. Esto llevara al fracaso las relaciones Norte-Sur y ejercera malas influencias sobre la situacion de la Peninsula Coreana y su contorno.
La banda de Lee debe actuar con prudencia si no quiere ser condenada por la nacion como vendepatria servil a EE.UU. que desafio a la aspiracion nacional y a la corriente de la epoca de reunificacion iniciada el 15 de Junio.
