Good Species of Saplings Nursed
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The Aeguk Tree Tissue Cultivation Institute is nursing many good species of saplings by deepening the research into the tissue cultivation of saplings.

Now the institute is exerting itself to produce various species of saplings which are economically valuable, while deepening research.
It is also intensifying research work with a plan to produce tens of thousands of saplings a year including Sabina chinensis, cryptomeria and gingko a year, while researching into trees of medicinal value including blueberry and Schizandra chinensis.
Intensified Anti-Imperialist Revolutionary Struggle Called for
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The revolutionary struggle of the popular masses is inevitable and it is bound to go on as long as imperialism exists. No desperate efforts on the part of the imperialists can ever block the revolutionary advance of the people in their own countries.
Rodong Sinmun Thursday observes this in a signed article.
It goes on:
The crafty nature of the ruling method employed by the imperialists these days lies in the facts that they are leading the contradictions between the toiling masses in their countries and immigrants to confrontation and conflict and that they describe "successes" made by some minor enterprises as those of brainwork in an effort to make people believe that anyone with a good brain can become rich.
There is always resistance in the place where independence is trampled down and resistance is bound to be accompanied by a revolutionary struggle.
There take place consistent struggles of various forms for the right to existence and democratic freedom and rights in the capitalist countries.
It is an inexorable law governing the historical development for the peoples in the neo-colonies to nurture hatred against imperialism and turn out in a revolutionary struggle, aware of their plight.
This is evidenced by the fact that the anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. struggle is mounting and the movements for socialism are becoming distinct in Latin American countries.
A dynamic struggle for independence against imperialism is now under way in the areas where aggressor armed forces of the imperialists are deployed and in the countries under their occupation.
The consequences of the U.S.-led imperialists' policies for military supremacy and their moves for "globalization" touch off stronger resentment at imperialism among the world people and compel the people to vigorously turn out in the anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. struggle.
It is the law of history that imperialism is bound to go to ruin and socialism is sure to triumph, concludes the article.
Suppression of Protest Struggles Criticized in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- Members of political parties and civic organizations in south Korea, including the Democratic Labor Party and the People's Measure Council against the Total Opening of south Korean Market to American Beef, called a press conference in Seoul on May 26 to condemn the security authorities for having mobilized fully-armed riot policemen to indiscriminately repress the candle-light struggle against the import of American beef.
Speakers at the press conference said that the present situation reminds one of the June popular resistance 21 years ago.
They stated that the Lee Myung Bak regime is mistaken if it expects that a second June popular resistance will not take place.
A press release read out at the conference urged Lee Myung Bak to lend an ear to the voice of the people and behave himself.
Meanwhile, the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils called a press conference in front of Yonsei University in Seoul on the same day, demanding that the "government" come out for renegotiations on the import of American beef.
The federation declared that 30 student organizations under it would go on a hunger strike in demand of the renegotiations.
Actions for Bringing down Lee Myung Bak Regime Called for in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration of south Korea made public a statement titled "Let us bring down the present regime which cracked down upon the candlelight rally" on May 25.
Accusing the security authorities of brutally suppressing the participants in the candlelight rally on May 24 by mobilizing a huge police force, the statement declared that the Lee Myung Bak group disclosed its true colors as a dictatorial and violent regime.
The present reality proves that the people cannot live in peace as long as the Lee group stays in power, it noted, and continued:
The people have realized that sitting idle with candle-lights in hands only would not help solve anything. The statement called on everybody to come out in the struggle to pressurize the present regime and fight it out.
All the people will surely bring down the Lee regime through the second June resistance, it warned
Repeal of "Guidelines for Education in Unification Issue" Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity of Youth and Students for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration of south Korea made public a statement on May 23 in demand of the repeal of the "guidelines for education in unification issue" aimed at inciting confrontation with the DPRK.
The statement held that the "guidelines" released by the "Institute for Education in the Unification Issue" under the "Ministry of Unification" fully represented the confrontation psychology of traitor Lee Myung Bak.
The "guidelines" have become the target of criticism and condemnation not only from teachers but also from people from all other walks of life as they are peppered with anti-reunification confrontational rhetoric, the statement said.
Noting that the "guidelines" served to defame the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, the statement urged the Lee Myung Bak regime to immediately stop advocating "no nukes, opening and 3,000 dollars", retract the "guidelines" and halt the moves for scrapping the June 15 joint declaration.
Withdrawal of U.S. Forces and Conclusion of Peace Agreement on Korean Peninsula Urged
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The "June 15 single-minded mountainous society for reunification" of south Korea gave a lecture on May 25 in Seoul at which it demanded the withdrawal of the U.S. forces and the conclusion of a peace agreement on the Korean Peninsula.
Yu Yong Jae, policy room chief of the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification, in his speech at the lecture accused the ruling authorities of south Korea and the U.S. of working with bloodshot eyes to tighten the "alliance" for aggression.
He held that in order to tide over the war crisis on the Korean Peninsula and reunify the divided country, it is necessary to force the U.S. forces to pull out of south Korea.
The U.S. and its puppets, taken aback by the people's growing call for the withdrawal of the U.S. forces, let loose a spate of balderdashes such as "U.S. forces should stay in south Korea even after the conclusion of a peace agreement on the Korean Peninsula" and "south Korea-U.S. alliance makes a contribution to promoting global democracy and human rights" in a bid to justify the permanent presence of the U.S. forces in south Korea, he noted, stressing that it is essential to drive the U.S. troops standing in the way of the Koreans' efforts to achieve reunification out of this land and get the above-said "alliance" scrapped.
He called upon all the people to turn out in the struggle for the withdrawal of the U.S. forces and the conclusion of the peace agreement.
Japan's Push for Space Militarization beyond Danger Line
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The "Main Law on Space" was finally adopted at the House of Councilors of Japan on May 21 despite strong protest and condemnation at home and abroad.
With this Japan has totally given up its titular principle of "peaceful use of space" and got the green light to pull its full weight on the criminal drive for space militarization aimed at overseas aggression.
The law provides Japan with a legal ground to develop and possess its own up-to-the-minute military satellites involving the launching of a high performance reconnaissance satellite by the "SDF" and the introduction of the early warning satellite, the sine qua non for a missile defense system, which had been banned.
It is obviously an extremely dangerous development.
Japan has long since pushed ahead with preparations for space militarization, crying for it to realize its wild ambition for overseas expansion.
Japan concluded an agreement on cooperation in the conquest of space with the U.S. in 1969, thus paving the way for infiltrating into the sphere of space rocket technology. And from 1985 it buckled down in real earnest to the development of technical processes for using space for the military purpose.
In recent years it has worked round the clock to establish an independent missile defense system for forestalling strikes at other countries, while hastening the joint development of MD, a rehashed version of the "Star Wars," with the United States under the pretext of "missile threat" from the DPRK.
Toward the end of last year, Japan carried out a test launching of "SM-3", a missile deployed on the sea for intercepting a missile in outer space, thereby rounding off its own missile defense system composed of "SM-3" and "PAC-3", a "patriot" interceptor missile deployed on land. The deployment of the "PAC-3" of the Air "SDF" had been completed in the metropolitan sphere by the end of March this year.
Japan is planning to deploy 124 "PAC-3" missiles and 16 "PAC-3" units at 11 bases across the country in three years to come to bring into shape a missile defense system topping the world in density.
Last year Japan completed its satellite system for information collection covering the whole world by launching rocket "H-2A" loaded with a spy satellite.
What it seeks in this is obviously to gratify its aggressive design overseas at any cost by gaining military supremacy in space.
That's why Japan openly prescribed in the "Main Law on Space", under the cloak of "national security", that the domestic satellite networks and its associated facilities can be used for the MD.
Facts show that the Japan's moves for reinvasion through space militarization have gone beyond the danger line and are being stepped up posthaste at the practical stage.
The Japanese reactionaries should not act rashly, deeply mindful that their reckless drive for space militarization aimed at reinvasion will lead them to self-destruction and death.
