Vice-President of China Leaves
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Xi Jinping, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and vice-president of the People's Republic of China, left here today by air after winding up his official good-will visit to the DPRK at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government of the DPRK.
Leaving together with him were Vice-Minister in Charge of the National Development and Reform Commission Zhu Zhixin, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Zhang Yesui, Deputy Head of the International Liaison Department of the C.C., CPC Liu Hongcai, Vice-Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng, Deputy Director of the Policy Research Office of the C.C., CPC Shi Zhihong and other suite members.
They were seen off by Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, and others.
Message of Thanks from Chinese Vice-President
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- A message of thanks was sent to General Secretary Kim Jong Il,President Kim Yong Nam and Vice-President Yang Hyong Sop of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK by Xi Jinping, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and vice-president of the People's Republic of China, upon leaving here after wrapping up his visit to the DPRK on Thursday.
The message sincerely thanked for according the Chinese delegation cordial hospitality and arranging a minutely worked out itinerary for it.

During the visit both sides had an in-depth exchange of views on the bilateral ties and other issues of common concern and reached a wide-ranging common understanding, the message noted, adding that the visit helped further deepen the bilateral understanding and trust and boost the exchange and cooperation in different fields of the two countries.
He in the message said that he was pleased with the success made in the visit and wished the DPRK prosperity and its people happiness.
Choe Thae Bok Meets British Ambassador
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Choe Thae Bok, chairman of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, met and had a talk with John Everard, British ambassador to the DPRK, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Thursday when the latter paid a farewell call on him.
Present there was Ri Jong Hyok, chairman of the DPRK-British Friendship Parliamentary Group.
DPRK Delegation Leaves for Latin America
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- The DPRK delegation led by Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Hyong Jun left Pyongyang on Thursday by air to attend the 7th meeting of information ministers of non-aligned countries to be held in Venezuela.
The delegation is also to visit Cuba, Mexico and other Latin American countries.
Art Performance Given
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- An art performance was given at the Central Youth Hall today in celebration of the 44th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Among the audience were senior officials of the Party, army and state and officials of the party and armed forces organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions and servicepersons of the Korean People's Army and working people in Pyongyang.
Staged at the performance given by artists of leading artistic troupes were colorful numbers such as female solo and chorus "Song Devoted to Comrade Kim Jong Il", string ensemble "The Sound of a Horse's Hooves in Mt. Paektu", dance "Azalea of Homeland", female trio "Mother Party", female chorus "Songun Nilliri" and chorus "Arirang for Prosperity".

Dancing Parties of Youth and Students Held
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Dancing parties of youth and students were held in different parts of the country on Thursday to celebrate the 44th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Youth and students presented sea of dancers in various places in Pyongyang including the plazas of the Tower of the Juche Idea, the Monument to Party Founding and the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium. They danced to the tunes of such songs as "Our General Is Best," "Twelve Months for Songun Victory," "Youth Is Glorified Thanks to the Workers' Party," "Let Us Become Soldiers of General's Army" and "Let the Youth Uphold Our Party."

Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Meetings of workers and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, youth and students and members of the Korean Democratic Women's Union were held in Pyongyang and a meeting of agricultural workers in Thaechon County, North Phyongan Province to celebrate the 44th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
At the meetings reporters and speakers said that Kim Jong Il's start of work at the WPK Central Committee 44 years ago was a historic event of epoch-making significance in the development of the party and the revolution.
They recalled that Kim Jong Il has defended and carried forward and developed the idea of President Kim Il Sung on party building and his exploits for it, thus strengthening the WPK into a powerful political organization guiding the revolutionary cause of Juche.

Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Colorful events took place in various parts of the DPRK on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Technical Course of AIBA Held in Pyongyang
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- A technical course has of late taken place in the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium according to a plan of the International Boxing Association.
Participating there were boxing coaches and experts, teachers of juvenile sports schools and officials of provincial sports technique associations.
The course was divided into technical session and practical session.
The topics were the superintensive training method and basic and essential problems arising in teaching and training.
Cuban Embassy Officials Visit Pyongyang Textile Mill
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Ambassador Jose Manuel Galego Montano and staff members of the Cuban embassy here visited the Pyongyang Textile Mill Thursday on the occasion of the 80th birth anniversary of Che Guevara.
After being briefed on the history of the mill associated with the immortal leadership exploits of the three generals of Mt. Paektu, the guests looked round different workshops of the mill including the Che Guevara Combined Dyeing Shop.
At the end of the visit the ambassador said that they were pleased to significantly commemorate the 80th birth anniversary of Cuban Hero Che Guevara together with Korean comrades.
Endless Stream of People Visit Exhibition of Works on Juche Idea
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- An endless stream of people are visiting the Exhibition of Works on the Juche Idea on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
On display in a chronological order in the exhibition are famous works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
Nearly 2.2 million servicepersons of the Korean People's Army and people from all walks of life including workers and farmers have visited the exhibition so far since it was opened to visitors on December 21, Juche 87 (1998). Among them are more than 3,000 overseas Koreans and foreigners.
Great Reality Brought by Historical Oath
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- The cause of building a great, prosperous and powerful socialist country has vigorously forged ahead under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK). It finds itself in a new historical stage.
The great reality is unthinkable apart from the significant June of Juche 53 (1964) which turned a brilliant page in the history of the WPK.
Kim Jong Il with extraordinary leadership ability made a great oath to accomplish the revolutionary cause through generations as his lifelong mission in the historical period when he started the party work.
Over the last 40-odd years he has devoted his heart and soul to strengthen and develop the WPK into a powerful revolutionary party which carries forward the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered by President Kim Il Sung.
He formulated the revolutionary idea of the President as a monolithic system of idea, theory and method of Juche, proclaimed the modeling of the whole society on the Juche idea as the supreme programme of the Party and made public a lot of famous works for strengthening and developing the party work.
After the demise of the President, he put forward the basic slogans of the Party--"The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung will always be with us." and "Let us arm ourselves more firmly with the revolutionary ideas of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung!"
He also expounded the method of the party's leadership over the revolution and construction and led the efforts to bring about a revolutionary turn in the work system of the party organizations and in the work method and style of officials.
In those days a well-organized work system under which the whole party acts as one under the monolithic guidance of the Central Committee of the Party has been established more firmly and the party method of work of solving all the issues in reliance on the popular masses and popular style of work of taking care of the people with motherly character were created.
The party work has entered a new higher stage in the great Songun era.
General Secretary Kim Jong Il instructed officials that the party organizations should do the party work like the People's Army by embodying the revolutionary soldier spirit and wisely led the efforts to permeate the whole country with the Kanggye spirit, torchlight of Songgang and Thaechon spirit while providing field guidance to various sectors of the national economy.
Today the Korean people are striving ever harder to bring the revolutionary cause of Juche to accomplishment, full of optimism and confidence in victory, under the experienced and tested leadership of the WPK.
KCNA Rebukes U.S. Poor Political Charade
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- AP recently released a false report that there occurred cases of bird flu in the DPRK.
It put it that various types of fowls were found dead in Jongphyong County, South Hamgyong Province and dozens of magpies met death and a five-year-old child died of high fever in a political prisoners' camp in Hwasong in North Hamgyong Province.
This is a whopping lie.
The inquiry made by the DPRK Cabinet into the alleged cases through the relevant local veterinary and quarantine institutions has confirmed that neither wild birds nor fowls nor humans were reported dead in those areas and they are very safe in terms of anti-epidemic conditions.
What matters is that the above-said news agency mentioned the name of the local areas and cited even the non-existent "political prisoners' camp in Hwasong" as an example when floating such sheer rumor about the occurrence of bird flu in the DPRK in a bid to seriously mislead the public opinion.
Explicitly speaking, there exists no such place as the above-said political prisoners' camp in the DPRK. Moreover, there is no need for the DPRK to hide bird flu cases, if there be any.
The DPRK has taken every thorough-going measure to prevent the avian flu.
The State Emergency Anti-Epizootic Committee is active inside the DPRK Cabinet as a national command to combat bird flu. It takes constant measures to monitor the outbreak of the avian flu, send information about it and prevent it, keeping close touch with several international organizations including FAO and the World Organization for Animal Health.
There is a well-organized anti-epizootic system in the DPRK to keep pace with the worldwide efforts to fight bird flu and more than 1,600 watch posts in areas along the east and west coasts are conducting the survey of the movements of birds down to details as seasonal birds, major carriers of the bird flu virus, use the air over the above-said areas as their main migratory course.
This notwithstanding, AP spread sheer misinformation. This was a clumsy political charade to tarnish the international image of the dignified DPRK and isolate and stifle it in the end, pursuant to the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK.
It is well known that whenever the U.S. hit a snag in pursuing its hostile policy toward the DPRK it used reptile media for anti-DPRK smear campaigns.
It is not the first time that AP and other U.S. media crafted and spread false stories about the DPRK such as "counterfeiting" after being reduced to paid trumpeters serving the authorities, away from objectivity and impartiality considered as the principal ethics of media.
However, with no such poor charade can the U.S. ever browbeat the DPRK.
The clumsy anti-DPRK smear campaign of the U.S. will only end up tarnishing its image.
Papers Call for Strengthened Single-minded Unity around WPK
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Leading newspapers today dedicate editorials to the 44th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. Resolution of Various Personages Issued in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- A "1,004 persons' meeting for judging Lee Myung Bak and implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration" took place in Seoul on June 15.
A resolution signed by 1,004 personages of different social standings was made public at the meeting.
The resolution said that the June 15 joint declaration, a milestone for national reunification, is a treasured sword of victory for winning victory as it helps bring earlier reunification by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation.
After the publication of the joint declaration, the inter-Korean relations witnessed more rapid progress than ever before and 2007 saw the adoption of the October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing the June 15 joint declaration, the resolution noted.
But the appearance of the Lee Myung Bak regime threw an obstacle to the June 15 era, it said.
The Lee "government" is not a "government" for the people but a puppet for the U.S., it said, stressing that the Lee "government" is inflicting pain upon the Korean nation by bringing the inter-Korean relations back to those in the era of the Cold War though a way for the south side to settle the problems of economic bankruptcy and the deterioration of the people's livelihood lies in inter-Korean reconciliation, unity and cooperation.

Anti-Lee Myung Bak and Anti-GNP Actions Staged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Netizens held a rally with candles in their hands condemning the Grand National Party of south Korea (GNP) before its building in Seoul on June 17, timed to coincide with the candlelight actions staged in different parts of south Korea in protest against the unpopular policy of the Lee Myung Bak group.
The speakers at the rally referred to the fact that the candlelight actions of different circles are gaining in scope and strength as the days go by in protest against the import of American beef, "the great canal project", the plan to put media under the control of the puppet "government" and its other unpopular policies.
Branding Lee as a guy belonging to a foreign party keen on distorting the history, they charged that the GNP which takes a cudgel on behalf of Lee is to blame for compelling citizens to turn out in streets for resistance.
They demanded the GNP lend an ear to the demand of the people and correct the wrong policy of the "government" and force Lee to step down.
Then the participants of the rally held a demonstration.
Members of the "People's Action for the Cancellation of the Canal Project" grouping more than 390 civic organizations in all parts of south Korea, the Green Association, the Environment Movement Association, the Buddhists' Environment Solidarity, the Women Environment Solidarity and other environment organizations and citizens staged a candlelight action in protest against traitor Lee's "great canal project" in Seoul on the same day.
Seminars Held in Ethiopia and Mexico
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Seminars on General Secretary Kim Jong Il's works were held by the Ethiopian Youth Study Group of the Juche Idea and the Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism on June 9 and 11 on the occasions of the 44th anniversary of his start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 11th anniversary of the publication of his work "On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of the Revolution and Construction."
Chairman of the Ethiopian Group Nigatu Dagnachew said at the seminar that to preserve the Juche character and national character presents itself as a vital issue in protecting the destiny of every country and nation, adding that the work serves as guidelines to be held fast to by the world progressives.

June 15 Joint Declaration Supported
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Indian and Australian figures released statements on June 11 on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of the historic June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.
G. Debarajan, secretary of the Central Committee of the All-India Forward Bloc, said that a landmark turn which was brought about in the efforts to achieve national reconciliation, cooperation and reunification on the Korean Peninsula constitutes precious fruition of the wise and energetic leadership of Kim Jong Il.
He expressed full support to the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, noting that it serves as a milestone of unity and reunification of the Korean nation.
He stressed that under the leadership of Kim Jong Il the Workers' Party and people of Korea would shatter the moves of the anti-reunification forces under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and surely achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country in the near future.
Raymond Ferguson, national secretary of the Australia-DPRK Association for Friendship and Culture, referred in detail to the fact that the Korean nation is waging a dynamic movement for reunification under the banner of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.
The struggle of the Korean people for national reunification is positively supported by the world peace-loving people, he said, adding that the idea of "By our nation itself" is the most just idea which meets the interests of the Korean nation.
Anniversary of Joint Declaration Observed
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea released a bulletin titled "June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, a milestone for Korea's reunification" on June 11 on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of the joint declaration.
The bulletin in an article noted that the inter-Korean summit held in June 2000 is of special significance in Korea's history of national division.
The summit and the joint declaration were the brilliant fruition of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's extraordinary farsightedness and wisdom, wise leadership and politics based on ardent patriotism, the bulletin said.
Recalling that the inter-Korean summit meeting was held and the "Declaration for the Development of North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity" was adopted in October last year, the bulletin stressed that no separatist force on earth can stem this trend of history.

FIB realiza cursillo tecnico
Pyongyang, 19 de junio (ATCC) -- Ultimamente tuvo lugar en el Palacio de Deportes de Pyongyang el cursillo tecnico segun el plan de la Federacion Internacional de Boxeo (FIB).
En el certamen participaron los entrenadores y especialistas de boxeo, los instructores de escuelas deportivas de jovenes y ninos y funcionarios de la Asociacion de Tecnica Deportiva de todas las provincias.
El cursillo se realizo dividido en la leccion de teoria y practica.
Se trataron los problemas basicos y elementales que se presentan en el metodo de entrenamiento de alta resistencia, instruccion y ejercicios de los boxeadores.

ATCC desmiente versiones de AP
Pyongyang, 19 de junio (ATCC) -- Recientemente, la agencia norteamericana AP trascendio la informacion mentirosa de que broto en Corea la gripe aviar.
Segun ella, "en el distrito de Jongphyong de la provincia de Hamgyong del Sur fueron halladas muertas las aves domesticas de varias especies y en el campo de concentracion de los presos politicos de Hwasong en la provincia de Hamgyong del Norte resultaron muertos un nino de 5 anos de edad por la alta fiebre y decenas de urracas".
Al respecto, el Consejo de Ministros de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea confirmo por conducto de los organos de prevencion veterinaria en las localidades mencionadas que no se murieron ninguna ave silvestre o domestica ni una persona y esas zonas se mantienen en buen estado epidemiologico.
Lo polemico del caso es que la AP engano seriamente a la opinion publica como si hubiera victimas de gripe aviar en nuestro pais senalando los lugares e inventando hasta el fantasmal "campo de concentracion de los presos politicos de Hwasong".
Evidentemente dicho, nuestro pais no alberga ninguna instalacion como el "campo" referido ni mucho menos tiene motivo de ocultar el brote de esa epidemia.
En la RPDC estan tomadas perfectas medidas por combatir la gripe aviar.
En el Consejo de Ministros de la RPDC esta instaurado el Comite Estatal Emergente de Prevencion de Epidemias como mando central de la lucha contra la gripe aviar.
Ademas, se toman las medidas de vigilancia, informacion y prevencion sobre la epidemia en cuestion en estrecha relacion con la Organizacion de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentacion (FAO), la Organizacion Veterinaria Internacional y otras organizaciones internacionales.
Conforme a la tendencia de las actividades mundiales para la prevencion de gripe aviar, esta establecido un ordenado sistema de prevencion veterinaria.
