U.S. and S. Korean Warmongers' Projected War Exercises Assailed
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The south Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command officially announced that it would stage Ulji Freedom Guardian, the first puppet army-led south Korea-U.S. joint military exercises, from August 18 to 22 with at least 10,000 U.S. forces stationed abroad and in south Korea involved. A spokesman for the Korean National Peace Committee issued a statement Friday denouncing the projected saber-rattling.
Branding the joint exercises as DPRK-targeted provocative war exercises that replaced the Ulji Focus Lens which the U.S. and the puppet warmongers staged on an annual basis from mid-1970s, the statement continued:
This is an open declaration of confrontation with the DPRK and an outright challenge to the Koreans and the international community desirous of peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
The projected U.S. and the south Korean warmongers' saber-rattling would only escalate tension and the danger of a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula and gravely threaten stability in Northeast Asia.
The warmongers of the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces are trying hard to justify the war exercises, claiming that they are aimed at "defense." But with nothing can they cover up their aggressive nature.
The reality goes to clearly prove that the "dialogue", "peace" and "improved relations" touted by the U.S. and the Lee Myung Bak group are nothing but an empty talk and they only seek confrontation and war.
The Korean people will never tolerate the provocateurs' moves for a war of aggression against the north, the moves aimed to tarnish the dignity and sovereignty of the Korean nation, but will resolutely counter them with a powerful measure for self-defence.
KCNA Rebukes Japan's Moves for Reinvasion
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology on July 14 distributed to middle schools across the country "new teaching guidelines" calling for educating students in the important role the "Self-Defense Forces" (SDF) has to play for the "defence of Japan and maintenance of peace and security in the international community".
This prompted the Japanese middle schools to put the main emphasis of education concerning the SDF on its "international activities", not on the process of its building as in the past.
This proves that the criminal moves of the descendents of Samurais to stoke the militarist zeal for overseas expansion among the rising generation and thus lay an ideological and moral groundwork for launching reinvasion have reached a more dangerous phase.
The SDF is in the process of turning into forces for preemptive attacks after completely discarding the cumbersome signboard of "exclusive defence."
The "international activities" of the SDF are nothing but open war actions to make overseas military operations and intervention an established fact and get proficient in their methods.
To paint this as one for "a peaceful purpose" and impart this into the minds of the rising generation of Japan is aimed to imbue them with extreme arrogance and militarist idea from their childhood and thus train them as a shock brigade for aggression.
The Japanese reactionaries' moves to let the militarist idea run through the spiritual education of the rising generation in a bid to build an ideological and moral groundwork for reinvasion have started long ago.
The goal of "educational reform" openly pushed forward by the Japanese authorities in the new century is to modify the 1946 "fundamental law of education" which was instituted to ban education in "imperialist Japan" and include in it a "royal order" concerning education instituted by "emperor" in 1896 and thus revive the militarist view on history and ultra-nationalism.
It is in the course of such reactionary "educational reform" that the national flag and the national anthem dating back to the era of "empire" have been revived and young Japanese are taught distorted history and misguided self-confidence and totalitarian and chauvinistic view on life. This reality of Japan reminds one of the dark era when Japan waged the "national spiritual general mobilization movement" under the slogans of "Let's go to Manchuria!" and "Let's go to Pacific!"
It is the ultra-right forces that are taking the lead in stirring up this social atmosphere. They do not hesitate to utter bellicose remarks that "Japan will meet ruin if the prime minister stops visiting 'Yasukuni Shrine'" and "even 'small-scale war' with China should be considered," etc.
Japan's preparations for war have, in fact, reached a final phase given that it is pushing forward the replacement of the "pacifist constitution" by a war constitution and the reorganization of the SDF into "armed forces for self-defense" following the institution of various laws for the execution of war.
The international community is growing vigilant against the Japanese ultra-right forces' stepped-up ideological and moral preparations in step with the legal and military ones for reinvasion while openly calling for building "Japan capable of fighting a war".
The Japanese reactionaries had better stop running amuck, pondering over the serious consequences to be entailed by their reckless moves for reinvasion.
Lee Myung Bak Group Bound to Go to Ruin
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The Lee Myung Bak group is making desperate efforts to calm down the candlelight protesters and tide over its ruling crisis through double-dealing tactics-- appeasement and deception and fascist crackdown--but the Lee treacherous regime is bound to go to ruin as it is forsaken by the people.

The vigorous massive candlelight actions now underway in south Korea are an inevitable product of the Lee group's sycophantic, treacherous and unpopular policy.
The sycophantic and treacherous politics pursued by traitor Lee is censured for being the most disgraceful, humiliating and treacherous politics in history.
He is vociferous about "economic recovery" but rendering the economy and people's living more bankrupt.
The Lee group has not taken any measure to save economy from bankruptcy. Yet, it is working with bloodshot eyes to stem the trend of the June 15 era of reunification and foster the inter-Korean confrontation, stepping up its policy of confrontation with the DPRK as regards the inter-Korean relations issue. His anti-reunification confrontational policy resulted in freezing the relations between the north and the south which had favorably developed since the publication of the June 15 joint declaration and putting the inter-Korean cooperation undertakings on the verge of breakdown.
The hatred and resentment of the south Koreans at Lee triggered off massive candlelight demonstrations.
The sycophants and traitors are bound to meet self-destruction as they rule over the people and infringe upon the dignity and interests of the nation, backed by foreign forces. This is the truth taught by history.
Suppression is by no means a cure-all. No brutal crackdown can arrest the struggle of the people. The days of the fascist tyrant are numbered.

Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The Songun history of the DPRK has recorded many legends of the great man which touch the heart-strings of all people.
Among them is the legend of "forced march in mid-summer" telling of the ardent patriotic devotion of leader Kim Jong Il.
He who regards the troubles for the country and people as pleasure gave historic on-the-spot guidance to east coastal district last summer when it was hottest in scores of years, coupled with downpours which triggered off a heavy flood instantly.
The units to which he gave on-the-spot guidance reported in August numbered nearly 20.

Friendly Meeting Held with Mongolians
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- A friendly meeting was held at DPRK-Mongolia Friendship Pyongyang Songyo Middle School No. 1 today on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's visit to Mongolia.
Present there on invitation were Ambassador Sodovjamts Khurelbaatar and staff members of the Mongolian embassy here and members of the visiting friendly delegation of the "Neajin International" Trade Co., Ltd. of Mongolia.
Pak Kyong Il, vice-chairman of the DPRK-Mongolia Friendship Association, and others were on hand.
Prior to the meeting, the guests went round educational facilities at the school and donated to it the educational equipment prepared by them.
The participants of the meeting talked with each other about the matter of further developing the cooperative relations between the two countries, deepening friendship.
Commemorative Stamp of 29th Olympic Torch Relay Published
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- A new postage stamp (souvenir sheet) has been released in commemoration of the 29th Olympic torch relay held in Pyongyang in April.
Printed on the top of the sheet are the words "29th Olympic Torch Relay Pyongyang April 28, Juche 97 (2008)", under which there is a stamp showing a poster on the theme of "Light the Passion, Share the Dream."
On both sides of the stamp there are the Tower of the Juche Idea and Kim Il Sung Stadium against the background of Pyongyang citizens cheering the torch relay with bouquets in their hands.
Brought out in the meantime are stamps showing serpentine, chalcopyrite, zinc blende and molybdenite which are distributed in different parts of Korea.
Schoolchildren's Summer Camping Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- Schoolchildren have pleasant summer camping at the children's camps located in scenic spots in different parts of the DPRK.
The camps were successfully renovated to be centers for extracurricular education under the loving care of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il. They are equipped with all amenities and different kinds of sports and entertainment facilities to enable the children to enjoy their camping.
The camps have drawn at least 4.7 million schoolchildren for the last decades.
Camping started at those camps this year, too, on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
The children's camps in Mts. Myohyang and Ryongak and Songdowon, Lake Yonphung and in other places are now animated with campers.
The schoolchildren spending their joyful days at the Mangyongdae Children's Camp visited such revolutionary sites as the old home of the President in Mangyongdae and the warship rock to deeply grasp his revolutionary history.
The schoolchildren are climbing Mt. Myohyang widely known for its spectacular scenery to command a bird's-eye view of the Manphok Valley and the Sangwon Hermitage and nurture patriotism.
Schoolchildren are making their camping days pleasant with maritime sporting activities and sports games and other programs at the Sokam and Sohungho children's camps on the shores of scenic lakes and the Soho and Kyongpho children's camps on the east coast.
Impeachment of Lee Myung Bak Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The Democratic Party of south Korea held on July 15 that traitor Lee Myung Bak should be impeached, according to south Korean CBS.
The party quoted the Japanese Yomiuri Shimbun saying: When Japanese Prime Minister Fukuda said Japan had no option but to make a reference to Takeshima in the "explanation about the new guidelines for schools" as regards the social subjects of primary and middle schools during Lee Myung Bak's recent trip to Japan, Lee responded to him by uttering "Please wait."
The party stated: "If it is true that the president said so when hearing such absurd remark from Fukuda though he is obliged to defend the territory of his country, it was obviously a violation of the Constitution". He deserves an impeachment from a legal point of view.
Japan's Moves to Grab Tok Islet Protested in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The struggle against Japan's moves to grab Tok Islet was waged across south Korea on July 15.
Civic and public organizations respectively held press conferences outside the Japanese embassy in Seoul.
39 civic and public organizations including the Solidarity for Progress of south Korea said that Japan's persistent "claim to Tok Islet" is aimed at gratifying its ambition for reinvasion of the Korean Peninsula and greed and that it will be the only and wise choice for the Japanese government to abandon its "claim to the islet."
The organizations called upon all the people to turn out in the struggle not to tolerate any aggression and provocation of Japan but to defend Tok Islet.
Noting that Japan's ceaseless scheme to grab Tok Islet is ascribable to the humiliating diplomacy of the south Korean "government", they urged the Lee Myung Bak "government" to take a positive and tough counteraction over the issue of Tok Islet.
The participants staged a protest demonstration, chanting such slogans as "The Japanese government should apologize for the attempted aggression of Tok Islet and distortion of history!" and "The Lee Myung Bak 'government' incompetent and disgraceful in diplomacy should resign!"
The Teachers' Union (Jongyojo), the south Korean General Federation of Teachers' Organizations strongly condemned Japan's description of its "dominium over Tok Islet" as an act of distorting history and invading the islet.
Then, they handed a letter of protest to the Japanese embassy.
Teachers affiliated to the Kwangju and South Jolla Provincial Branch of Jongyojo, the Kwangju General Federation of Civic Organizations and the Education Office in Chongju City, North Chungchong Province joined the struggle to denounce Japan's brazen-faced moves to grab Tok Islet.
Posted on Internet homepages of south Korea were a large number of articles slashing at the above-said moves.
Meanwhile, the Press Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and the Group for Defending Tok Islet issued statements on July 14 protesting the moves.
Great Career of Kim Il Sung Highly Praised
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- Round-table talks, reading sessions and film shows were held in Russia, Ukraine, Brazil and Democratic Congo between July 2 and 9 to commemorate the 14th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung.
Participants of the film shows watched Korean films dealing with the revolutionary history and undying exploits of the President.
Gennadi Sharin, a composer of Russia, said at a film show that the President is the peerlessly great man who has been deeply revered by the world progressive people.
The president of a Ukrainian company said that through the film show he came to know better about the noble virtue of Kim Il Sung, who took good care of the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, and the noble mental world of the fighters, who defended him at the cost of their lives.
The chairman of the Brasilia City Committee of the Brazilian Communist Party said at the round-table talks that Kim Il Sung is a distinguished leader recognized by the whole world and that he has enjoyed boundless reverence of all people for his enormous feats for the country and the nation and humankind.
Vele Mukelenge, chairman of the Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of the University of Kinshasa in Democratic Congo, said at a reading session on Kim Il Sung's reminiscences "With the Century": The undying exploits performed by the President, who put forward the Songun idea and defeated with arms the heinous Japanese imperialists armed to the teeth, will remain long in the history of the anti-imperialist national liberation struggle.
Thanks to the Songun policy pursued by leader Kim Jong Il, the DPRK has become the mental pillar for the progressive people and the Juche idea followers the world over, the chairman stated.
Kim Il Sung's Work Published in Venezuela
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung's famous work "Let Us Shatter Imperialist Moves towards Aggression and War and Safeguard Peace and Independence" was brought out in booklet by the Canta Clara Publishing House of Venezuela on July 7.
The work, published on July 3, Juche 72 (1983), underlines the significance of the world conference of journalists and clarifies the idea that to oppose aggression and war and safeguard peace and independence is the most urgent task facing the world progressive people.
Also expounded in it are the noble mission and role of the world progressive media persons and the idea that it is the consistent foreign policy of the DPRK government to stand for peace and independence against imperialism and strengthen friendship and solidarity with peoples of different countries.

ATCC comenta nueva campana de movilizacion espiritual en Japon
Pyongyang, 18 de julio (ATCC) -- El Ministerio de Educacion, Cultura, Deportes, Ciencia y Tecnologia de Japon hizo publica el dia 14 la nueva "Guia de ensenanza", que exige a las escuelas secundarias de todo el pais impartir la educacion en el papel de las "Fuerzas de Autodefensa" para la "defensa de Japon y el mantenimiento de la paz y seguridad de la sociedad internacional".
Segun ella, las escuelas secundarias de Japon daran enfasis de la ensenanza sobre las "Fuerzas de Autodefensa" no en el proceso de su fundacion sino en sus "actividades en la arena internacional".
Esto demuestra que entraron en la etapa mas peligrosa las maniobras criminales de los descendientes de los samurais encaminadas a sentar la base ideo-espiritual para la nueva agresion al sembrar el entusiasmo por el expansionismo militarista a ultramar entre las nuevas generaciones.
Las "Fuerzas de Autodefensa" de Japon se convierten en las tropas para el ataque preventivo sin comprometerse en nada a su molesta mision de "defensa exclusiva".
En particular, sus "actividades internacionales" no son mas que abiertas maniobras belicas para ejercitar los metodos de operaciones e intervencion militares en ultramar considerandolas como hechos consumados.
Pero, las autoridades japonesas tratan de ensenar esas actividades a las nuevas generaciones distorsionandolas como "pacifistas" partiendo de su objetivo de formar a los japoneses como vanguardias de agresion inyectados desde nino de extrema arrogancia y de idea militarista.
Comenzaron mucho antes las tentativas de los reaccionarios japoneses de establecer el marco ideo-espiritual de la nueva agresion impartiendo a las nuevas generaciones la educacion espiritual fundamentada en la idea militarista.
La meta de la "reforma educacional", que las autoridades japonesas impulsan de manera mas abierta en el nuevo siglo, es reproducir la concepcion de la historia militarista y el ultranacionalismo al enmendar la "ley principal de educacion" instituida en 1946 para prohibir la educacion de "Japon imperialista" y al estipular en ella el "decreto de educacion" elaborado en 1896 por el "emperador".
En el proceso de la reaccionaria "reforma educacional" se rehabilitaron ya la bandera nacional y el himno nacional de la epoca "imperial" y se inculcan en las nuevas generaciones la historia tergiversada, el orgullo malsano y el punto de vista de la vida totalitario y chovinista.
Esta realidad de Japon hace recordar aquella epoca obscurantista cuando los japoneses libraban la "campana de movilizacion espiritual general del pueblo" gritando las consignas "!Vamos a Manchuria!" y "!Vamos al Pacifico!"
Las fuerzas ultraderechistas, que encauzan tal ambiente social, no vacilan en pronunciar palabras belicosas como "Japon se arruinara si el premier deja de visitar el 'santuario de Yasukuni'" y "Es preciso examinar hasta la guerra de 'pequeno tamano' con China".
Japon instituyo las leyes por ramas para la guerra e impulsa la enmienda de la "Constitucion pacifista" como la de guerra y la reorganizacion de las "Fuerzas de Autodefensa" como "ejercito autodefensivo".
Efectivamente, los preparativos belicos de Japon estan en etapa de acabado.
La sociedad internacional esta tomando precaucion de que las fuerzas ultraderechistas de Japon impulsan activamente los preparativos ideo-espirituales al paralelo de los juridicos y militares para la nueva agresion preconizando abiertamente la conversion de su pais en "Japon capaz de hacer la guerra".
Los reaccionarios japoneses deben actuar con prudencia tras reflexionar seriamente de las graves consecuencias que emanen de sus insensatas maniobras para la nueva agresion.
Arriban al Sur de Corea buques de combate de EE.UU.
Pyongyang, 18 de julio (ATCC) -- En estos dias, los belicistas militares norteamericanos estan desplegando en el Sur de Corea el colectivo de golpe al mando de portaaviones, informaron fuentes militares.
Ya entro en el puerto de Pusan el portaaviones de propulsion nuclear de tamano supergrande "Reagan", seguido de un destructor dotado de misiles teledirigidos llegado el dia 17 en el puerto de Phyongthaek.
Los belicistas norteamericanos planean introducir en los principales puertos surcoreanos, inclusive el de Jinhae, los destructores dotados de misiles teledirigidos y los submarinos.
No se puede pasar por alto el traslado de tales buques, ya difundido por la prensa, que coincide con los ejercicios militares terrestres "Hwarang" que se libran bajo la cooperacion entre el ejercito titere surcoreano, los organos locales de administracion, la policia y las fuerzas de reserva y con los ejercicios de operaciones de desembarco que se desarrollan diariamente en la zona de Phohang.
Esto es una maniobra premeditada de EE.UU. para amenazar militarmente al Norte de Corea y realizar su intento de acatarlo preventivamente detras de la cortina del "dialogo" y "negociaciones".
Emitidos en Corea nuevos sellos conmemorativos
Pyongyang, 18 de julio (ATCC) -- En Corea fue emitido un nuevo sello (un genero de papel enterizo de pequeno tamano) en conmemoracion del acto de carrera de relevos de la antorcha de los XXIX Juegos Olimpicos efectuado en abril pasado en Pyongyang.
En la parte superior del papel enterizo se leen las inscripciones "La Carrera de Relevos de la Antorcha de los XXIX Juegos Olimpicos, Pyongyang, el 28 de abril del 97 (2008) de la Era Juche" y su abajo el sello en que esta reflejado el cartel intitulado "Encendamos el fuego de entusiasmo y compartamos el sueno".
Y en sus ambos lados se ven el Monumento a la Idea Juche y el Estadio Kim Il Sung tomando por el fondo las figuras de trabajadores con ramos de flores en su mano, quienes dan bienvenida a la fila de la carrera de relevos de la antorcha.
Por otra parte, fueron emitidos los sellos particulares que muestran los minerales distribuidos en distintos lugares de Corea, entre otros, la serpentina, calcopirita, blenda y molibdenita.
