Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Sub-Unit
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected a sub-unit of KPA Unit 826.
After acquainting himself with the sub-unit's performance of duty, he watched the training of its servicepersons.
He put forward important tasks which would serve as guidelines in further intensifying the training, noting that to conduct combat training well is a basic guarantee for increasing the combat capability of the sub-unit.
Going round an education room and other cultural and educational facilities, he learned about how a political work was conducted among servicepersons.
Seeing various educational materials and visual aids displayed in different places of the sub-unit, he praised it for conducting effective political work by successfully building cultural and educational facilities to suit the characteristics of the soldiers.
Then he paid deep attention to the living of the soldiers, making the rounds of a bedroom, a mess hall, a wash-cum-bath house, a bean store, a barn and other supply service facilities.
He highly appreciated the revolutionary lifestyle prevalent in the sub-unit, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that it is assiduously and tenaciously managing its economic life.
He also highly appreciated patriotism displayed by the soldiers of the sub-unit, praising them for planting many trees every year to turn the compound of their barracks and the nearby mountains into a thick woodland and greenery.
Noting that the soldiers of each unit visited by him are making their economic life abundant by their own efforts and have successfully spruced up their posts, he stressed that the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and fortitude being displayed by the KPA serves as a powerful engine for dynamically advancing the era and the revolution.
He gave the servicepersons of the sub-unit a pair of binoculars, a machine gun and an automatic rifle as gifts before having a photo session with them.
He was accompanied by KPA Generals Hyon Chol Hae and Ri Myong Su.
Kim Jong Il Inspects Women's Company under KPA Unit 3407
Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected the Three Revolution Red Flag Women's Company under KPA Unit 3407.
He watched the training of the soldiers of the company before dropping in at the room for officers on duty to learn about their performance of duty.
He set forth tasks to be fulfilled to increase the combat capability of the company, expressing satisfaction over the fact that the soldiers are standing firm guard over their post in a strained and mobilized posture and satisfactorily performing their combat duties, fully aware that the defence of the country means the most vivid manifestation of patriotism.
He went round an education room, bedroom, mess hall, wash-cum-bath house, non-staple food store and other places of the company.
He learned in detail about all aspects of their service and living, asking about if there is anything inconvenient in the life of the soldiers who are performing their duties in sultry summer days, if it is not humid in their bedrooms, how they are processing non-staple food and if they are leading a regular cultural life.
He appreciated the efforts made by the commanding officers of the company, pleased with the fact that they have provided the soldiers with good living conditions after sprucing up the barracks of the company well.
He highly appreciated the successes made by the company, noting that it is assiduously managing itself, true to the WPK's Songun policy.
He had a photo session with the servicepersons of the company.

KPA Sends Message to S. Korean Side
Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the unit of the Korean People's Army stationed in the area of Mt. Kumgang in a special statement issued on August 3 clarified the principled stand of the KPA as regards the July 11 incident that occurred due to the mistake committed by a tourist of the south side.
The south Korean puppets, however, far from coming to their senses, are persistently pulling up the KPA over its just self-defensive measure and thereby pushing the north-south relations to a graver phase.
On August 6, traitor Lee Myung Bak, clinging to the coattail of his American master on a visit to south Korea, begged him to urge the north to opt for "probing the truth" of the July 11 incident and "take a measure against the recurrence of similar incident".
Under this situation the head of the working military personnel of the north side in the area under the control of the north and the south in the area along the East Coast on Saturday sent the following message to the puppet military of the south side, notifying it that the KPA side would formally put into force the military measures it clarified in the special statement as planned:
1. The measure of expelling personnel of the south side unnecessary in the tourist area of Mt. Kumgang shall take effect from August 10.
All those concerned of the authorities of the south side including those of "Korea Tourist Company" and "Mt. Kumgang Reunion Center" shall be expelled as the first-phase measure. The remaining personnel shall be expelled in a phased manner.
2. The passage of the south side's personnel and vehicles through the Military Demarcation Line shall be more strictly limited and controlled in the tourist area of Mt. Kumgang along with the expulsion measure.
3. Strong military sanctions shall be applied as regards all violations, big and small, in the tourist area of Mt. Kumgang and the area under the military control.
The Lee Myung Bak group had better face up to the serious situation and behave with discretion.
Kim Yong Nam Comes Back Home
Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, came back home today after attending the opening ceremony of the 29th Olympic Games held in China as a guest of honor.
Returning with the president were Pak Kil Yon, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and other suite members.
They were greeted at the airport by Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the SPA Presidium, Kim Yong Il, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Son Kwang Ho, vice-chairman of the Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, and Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Liu Xiaoming.
Kim Yong Nam Meets Chinese Vice-President
Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, on a visit to China to attend the opening ceremony of the 29th Olympic Games met and had a friendly talk with Xi Jinping, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and vice-president of the People's Republic of China, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Aug. 8.
Xi Jinping recalled that General Secretary Kim Jong Il personally received him and the party and government of the DPRK accorded him cordial hospitality during his visit to the DPRK in June this year.
It is the steadfast strategic policy of the party and government of China to boost the traditional Sino-Korean friendship, he noted, expressing the belief that this unbreakable friendship would steadily develop no matter how the international situation might change.
The party and government of the DPRK extended positive support and encouragement to China in various aspects whenever it found itself in an important and crucial period, he said, adding that the DPRK's dispatch of a high-level delegation to the opening ceremony of the current Olympiad is a strong support to the government and people of China.
He hoped that the Korean people would achieve good successes in the spirit of self-reliance and fortitude and significantly greet the 60th birthday of the DPRK under the leadership of Kim Jong Il.

Greetings to Chadian President
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Friday sent a message of greetings to Chadian President Idriss Deby on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the independence of the country.
Wishing the Chadian president and people success in their efforts for peace, stability and development of the country, Kim in the message expressed expectation that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would continue to develop.
Anniversary of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il's On-Site Guidance to Secret Camp in Mt. Paektu Marked
Samjiyon, August 9 (KCNA) -- A national meeting was held in the holy land of the sun on Saturday to mark the 20th anniversary of the on-site guidance to the secret camp in Mt. Paektu by President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and the 20th anniversary of the naming of "Jong Il Peak".
The President sent anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters several times to find out the secret camp in Mt. Paektu. In August Juche 75 (1986) he personally toured the area of Mt. Paektu and instructed officials to conduct the survey of Sobaeksu Valley.
On August 10, 1988 the President visited the secret camp in Mt. Paektu that was restored to its former glory, recollected what had been there half a century ago one after another, thus comprehensively ascertaining all findings to be valuable revolutionary relics. He said in an excited tone that it would be good to call the peak behind the old home of Kim Jong Il "Jong Il Peak" and carve those letters there.
The august name of Kim Jong Il was thus carved on natural granite stones on the peak towering more than 1,790 meters above the sea level.
Present at the meeting were Kim Yong Chun, Kim Il Chol and other senior officials and leading officials of the party and armed forces organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, KPA servicepersons, members of the June 18 Construction Shock Brigade and officials and working people in Ryanggang Province and Samjiyon County.
Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, in a report said that the on-site guidance provided by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il to the secret camp in Mt. Paektu in August 1988 marked a historic event of great significance in glorifying the revolutionary traditions of Mt. Paektu and developing the Korean revolution aimed at accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche generation after generation.

Jong Il Peak is not only a historical witness to the undying revolutionary feats performed by the President and anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk, which are associated with the secret camp in Mt. Paektu, but a historic peak towering as if to guard the birthplace of the bright star over Mt. Paektu and convey the glorious event of the nation to the whole world.
The carving of letters "Jong Il Peak" on the peak reflecting the spirit of Mt. Paektu increased the significance of Mt. Paektu. It also made it possible to add shine to the revolutionary battle sites and revolutionary historic sites centering around the secret camp in Mt. Paektu to ensure that they would serve as a fountainhead of the Korean revolution, a centre for effective education in the revolutionary traditions and treasures of eternal value to be handed down to posterity.
During his field guidance to the secret camp in Mt. Paektu on August 18, 1988 Kim Jong Il clarified principled matters arising in sprucing up the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu and indicated tasks to be carried out to preserve those sites and convert the area into a center for effective education in the revolutionary traditions and an attractive tourist destination.
Over the past two decades since the on-site guidance to the secret camp in Mt. Paektu by the President and Kim Jong Il the appearance of the area of Mt. Paektu and other revolutionary battle sites and revolutionary historic sites in Ryanggang Province has changed remarkably.
The reporter underlined the need for the army and people of the DPRK to firmly protect and preserve the revolutionary traditions of Mt. Paektu and successfully carry forward them under the banner of Songun in order to give a steady continuity to the Juche revolution, overcoming manifold difficulties and ordeals.
Senior Officials of Party, Army and State Visit Revolutionary Battle Sites in Mt. Paektu
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- Senior officials of the Workers' Party of Korea, the army and the state and leading officials of the Party and armed forces organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions visited revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the on-the-spot guidance given by President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il to the secret camp in Mt. Paektu and the 20th anniversary of the naming of "Jong Il Peak".
They visited the old home in the secret camp of Mt. Paektu Saturday.
Looking round the historic relics preserved with good care after entering its yard, they keenly felt once again the high pride and self-esteem of making revolution, holding Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the great leader, who was born as the son of guerrillas and grew up to be a brilliant commander of Songun, hearing the gun-firing during the great anti-Japanese war.
They climbed Mt. Paektu Sunday.
After being briefed on the monument to the instructions of Kim Jong Il standing at the foot of Mudu Peak, they reached the top of Mt. Paektu, the holy mountain of revolution.

Music and Dance Performance Given
Samjiyon, August 9 (KCNA) -- A music and dance performance was given by artistes of the Ryanggang Provincial Art Troupe at the Visitors Hall of the Office for the Management of Revolutionary Battle Sites in the Secret Camp in Mt. Paektu on August 9 to mark the 20th anniversary of the on-site guidance to the secret camp in Mt. Paektu by President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and the 20th anniversary of the naming of "Jong Il Peak".
The performance began with a chorus "May Jong Il Peak Shine." Its repertoire included women's quintet "Jong Il Peak Is the Best.", male solo "Mt. Paektu Is Native Home of Revolution", female solo and pangchang "General Employs the Art of Compressing Space", men's trio and chorus "General on a Galloping White Horse" and female solo "Oh, My Motherland of Songun".
The artistes enthusiastically sang of the peerlessly great men's immortal revolutionary feats noticeable in the holy land of the revolution and the Korean people's honor and pride of living, always remembering the Jong Il Peak imposingly towering as if to protect the old home in which the bright star of Paektu was born.

Secret Camp in Mt. Paektu Draws Endless Crowd of Visitors
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) --An endless stream of servicepersons, people from all walks of life and school youth and children are visiting the secret camp in Mt. Paektu on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the naming of "Jong Il Peak".
Among the visitors to the holy land of revolution in a recent month were working people and school youth and children of the Ministry of Railways, the Songjin Steel Complex, Phyongsong University of Education and Hero Hyesan Middle School No. 1 and many other units in Pyongyang and local areas.
They visited the old home in the secret camp in Mt. Paektu where they saw relics with keen attention, being briefed on the fact that General Secretary Kim Jong Il was born as the son of guerrillas and grew up to be a great revolutionary hearing the gun-firings during the great anti-Japanese war as a lullaby.
Among the visitors were delegations and visiting groups of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan and other compatriots from different areas of the world and many foreign friends.
Over the past two decades a total of more than five million people have visited the secret camp in Mt. Paektu.
Lee Myung Bak Group's Crackdown upon Youth and Students Flayed
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) --A spokesman for the Headquarters of the North Side of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification in a statement issued on August 9 denounced the Lee Myung Bak group for their fascist suppression of the people and youth and students in the south in their struggle for protecting the national sovereignty and dignity and achieving the reunification of the country.
The statement cited facts to prove that due to the whirlwind of suppression kicked up by the Lee group under the pretext of the "prevailing security situation" south Korea has turned into a dark land of fascism and a tundra of human rights that put the past period of military dictatorship into the shade.
The statement noted: Lee is now finding himself in a predicament for such acts of treachery as totally blocking the inter-Korean relations by vociferating about the theory of confrontation such as "no nuke, opening and 3,000" and leaving even the vital rights of people to the tender mercy of foreign forces through the import of beef from cattle infected with mad cow disease. He is seeking a way out of this in intensifying the fascist suppression of youth and students and other people.
The Lee group of wicked traitors have no future. They should draw a lesson from history, face up to the trend of the times, halt at once their frantic suppression and set free at once the detained youth and students and other people.

Repeal of S. Korea-U.S. "Mutual Defense Pact" Urged
Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- The south Korea-U.S. "mutual defense pact" should be abolished as it has served as a tool for the U.S. domination over south Korea and aggression against whole Korea, Minju Joson today says in a signed commentary.
It goes on:
The U.S. suffered a bitter defeat in the three-year-long Korean War and could not but sign the Armistice Agreement. Nevertheless, it cooked up on August 8, 1953, 12 days after the AA came into effect, the "mutual defense pact" which stipulated that the U.S. has the right to deploy its armed forces of three services in south Korea and its vicinities for an indefinite period allegedly to cope with "communist threat".
As a result, huge U.S. troops have always been stationed in south Korea to lord it over there though there is no foreign serviceperson in the DPRK.
Keeping its armed forces in south Korea for an indefinite period under this "pact", the United States has used them as a lever to seize the lifeline of politics, military affairs, economy, culture and all other fields of south Korea and intensify the domination and control over it.
As shown by the circumstances of the fabrication of the "pact" and the developments after that, it is impossible for the Korean nation to escape misfortunes with the aggressors and traitors left intact.
So, to conduct a vigorous struggle against the U.S. and Lee Myung Bak is the way for preserving and displaying the national sovereignty, defending peace from war and achieve the independent reunification of Korea.
Police Brutally Suppresses Candlelight Rally in S. Korea
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- Members of the Federation of Press Trade Unions and other press organizations of south Korea and Seoul citizens held a candlelight rally in front of the KBS Office in Seoul to defend public broadcasting services on August 7.
Speakers at the rally accused the authorities of contemplating dismissing Jong Yon Ju, manager of KBS, at an extraordinary meeting of the KBS Board of Directors.
Noting that the "government's" scheme to put broadcasting services under its control is becoming a reality, they called for conducting a more dynamic struggle to defend public broadcasting services.
Hundreds of policemen rushed into the venue of the rally and walked off more than 20 participants in the rally including Choe Sang Jae, chairman of the Federation of Press Trade Unions of south Korea, and Song Yu Bo, permanent chairman of the All-People Action for Checking the Scheme to Put Broadcasting under Control and Suppression of Netizens.
Some employees of KBS who protested against the suppression were also taken away by police.
Lawmakers from the Democratic Labor Party and other political parties of south Korea launched a sit-in strike outside the KBS Office in protest against the violent crackdown by the puppet police.
Lee Group's Scheme to Put Media under "Gov't" Control Assailed
Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- At least 1,000 members of the Democratic Party and citizens of south Korea held a rally in Seoul on August 6 to protest against the traitorous Lee Myung Bak group's moves to put media under its control, according to south Korean MBC.
The participants of the rally accused the Lee "government" of setting in motion all power organs to put media under its control.
Holding that the manager of a public broadcasting service can be dismissed only when he violates law, they accused the Board of Audit and Inspection of pressurizing Jong Yon Ju, manager of KBS, to resign under the pretext that he is accountable for "the mismanagement."
They noted that the "government" is becoming all the more pronounced in its attempt to put the media under its control.
Recalling that the "government" is contemplating appointing one of Lee's confidants as manager of KBS in the wake of appointing the new director general of the "Yonhap News Agency", they reiterated their will to wage a stubborn struggle to check the "resolution urging the resignation of Jong Yon Ju."
Police Crackdown upon Religionists Assailed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- The Christian Measure Council against American Beef Import of south Korea called a press conference in Seoul on August 6 condemning the puppet police for its suppression of religionists.
Speakers at the press conference accused the puppet police of walking off more than 20 religionists even firing water cannons at the participants of the candlelight rally on August 5.
They charged that the police placed even bounty on heads of religionists and arrested any of them on a street without confirming his or her participation in the rally.
They noted with anger that several religionists were wounded including scars around their eyes in the crackdown perpetrated by the police by the order to arrest priests protesting against its arrest, before being taken to hospital that day.
The above-said organization in a press release strongly urged the authorities to fire O Chong Su, chief of the puppet Police Office, who ordered the fascist suppression of religionists and the chief of the Seoul District Police Office, who personally commanded the arrest and immediately release the arrested religionists.
Colorful Events Held in Italy
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- A Korean book and art exhibition took place in Italy as part of the international cultural festival under the sponsorship of the Italy-DPRK Cultural Association from July 25 to 27.
Displayed in the exhibition halls were President Kim Il Sung's reminiscences "With the Century" and General Secretary Kim Jong Il's work "Socialism Is a Science" and art works created by the Mansudae Art Studio of the DPRK.
The mayor of Frosinone in Italy in his speech at the opening ceremony of the festival said that the inauguration of the above-said exhibition, the first of its kind in the festival, added significance to the festival and provided the visitors with an important opportunity to know better about the DPRK.
The exhibition drew more than 30,000 visitors including figures of the Frosinone City Office in Italy and the organizing committee of the festival who participated in the opening ceremony of the festival and diplomatic envoys from various countries in Italy.
The chairman of the organizing committee of the festival said that the DPRK is winning one victory after another, undeterred by any trial and storm and stress, as its people are holding the peerlessly great men in high esteem. I am pleased with the fact that the exhibition provided citizens of Frosinone with an opportunity to know better about the great men of Korea, he added.
The Peruvian ambassador to Italy praised President Kim Il Sung as the greatest man possessed of personality, virtue and humanity that attracted human beings. He expressed belief that a rosy future is in store for the DPRK as it is led by Kim Jong Il who is identical to the President in the idea, leadership, personality and moral influence.
An official in charge of culture of the Frosinone City Office stressed that Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are well known to the world and a symbol of hope and victory for the progressives.
Japanese Government's Moves to Grab Tok Islet Accused
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- The Japanese Liaison Council for Asian Joint Action made public a statement in denunciation of the government's moves to grab Tok Islet on July 20.
The statement held that the "new teaching guidelines" for primary and middle schools issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology described Tok Islet as part of the territory of Japan and this is intolerable as it is national chauvinist agitation aimed at imbuing the younger generation with a wrong view.
Explaining how the Japanese imperialists seized Tok Islet favorable for military actions early in the 20th century, the statement branded it as an imperialist criminal action and noted it was natural for the Korean nation to raise the voice critical of Japan.
Citing historical documents of Japan and other materials to prove that Tok Islet is an inalienable part of the Korean territory, the statement stressed that the liaison council would try hard to help Japanese have correct understanding of the issue of Tok Islet.
It strongly demanded the Japanese government admit that Tok Islet is part of the Korean territory, immediately correct the wrongly marked Tok Islet in the above-said "new teaching guidelines" and make reparation to peoples of Asian countries for Japan's past crimes.
Kim Jong Il's Songun Revolutionary Leadership Praised
Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- A seminar on General Secretary Kim Jong Il's work "Songun Revolutionary Line Is a Great Revolutionary Line of Our Era and an Ever-Victorious Banner for Our Revolution" was held in Mexico and a seminar on his exploits in Italy on August 2 on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership.
On display in the venues of the seminars were his famous works and books introducing the Korean people in their drive to achieve the reunification of the country and build a great prosperous powerful nation.

Anniversary of DPRK to Be Marked in Cambodia
Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- A preparatory committee was inaugurated in Cambodia on August 4 to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Kong Sam Ol, deputy prime minister in charge of Royal Palace, was selected chairman of the preparatory committee at the instruction of King Norodom Sihamoni.
The preparatory committee set the celebration period from August 9 to September 10 and decided to widely introduce through media the immortal feats performed by President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il for the country and the revolution and hold colorful events in the period.
Kim Il Sung's Great Exploits Lauded
Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) -- Guy Dupre, secretary general of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea (CILRECO), who is on a visit to the DPRK was interviewed by KCNA on August 7.
He recollected the revolutionary exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung for the country and the nation on the occasion of the historical day of liberation of Korea which he achieved by leading the anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory.
He went on to say:
The above-said victory was a great event as it helped the Korean People retake the sovereignty of the country and the dignity of the nation and enter the road of building an independent sovereign state.
His exploits performed in the struggle for the liberation of the country will shine forever.
After liberation the President conducted energetic activities to prevent the division of the country which was forced upon its people by foreign forces and build a reunified country.
The President put forward the most realistic and just proposals for achieving the reunification of the country, the cherished desire of the Korean nation, and devoted his all to its realization.
The secretary general expressed the belief that the reunification of Korea will certainly come true if the Korean people struggle as taught by the President.
The great exploits performed by the President in the cause of national reunification are brilliantly shining, he noted, and continued:
The movement for Korea's reunification has entered a new stage of development under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
The CILRECO will extend firm support and solidarity to the Korean people in the just struggle for reunification and prosperity of the country in the future, too, in hearty response to the noble intention of the President, the secretary general stressed.

Kim Jong Il dirige vivero de la provincia de Hamgyong del Sur
Pyongyang, 9 de agosto (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il, Secretario General del Partido del Trabajo de Corea y Presidente del Comite de Defensa Nacional de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea, dirigio sobre el terreno el taller de vivero del Centro de Administracion Forestal del distrito de Riwon de la provincia de Hamgyong del Sur.
Tras escuchar explicaciones, el Dirigente visito la sala de divulgacion de conocimientos cientifico-tecnicos y las parcelas de las posturas de arboles de diferentes especies averiguando en detalles el estado de produccion de las posturas.
Se mostro muy satisfecho del acondicionamiento de ese magnifico vivero parecido a un gran jardin botanico y de la produccion cientifica de posturas.
Acto seguido, subio al monte frondoso y presencio el bosque de pinos pinoneros injertados creado por el centro de administracion forestal del distrito.
Califico de maravilloso el paisaje que dan este frondoso bosque extendido en todo el monte y las pinas abundantes en cada rama y escucho la historia de lucha de los creadores de esta area verde.
Tales trabajos, de que se beneficiara una o varias decadas despues, los pueden realizar solo los patriotas de verdad que se dedican por entero para la prosperidad de la patria y la felicidad de las generaciones venideras, dijo y evaluo altamente el noble patriotismo de los funcionarios y obreros del referido centro, incluyendo su ex titular Choe Ki Jong quien corono su vida trabajando largo tiempo para el bosque.
La experiencia del centro comprobo en la practica la veracidad y la gran vigencia de la magna idea Juche de transformar el hombre, la sociedad y la naturaleza segun la demanda del Juche, asevero y agrego que no hay nada irrealizable en este mundo cuando se explote al maximo la capacidad creativa del hombre.
Si trabajamos tenaz y constantemente para transformar la naturaleza de la patria como este centro, podemos cubrir en un corto tiempo todos los montes del pais de frondosos bosques, dijo e indico en el terreno las tareas para realizar la forestacion.
Para lograr la forestacion de todo el pais, hay que plantar muchos arboles y prestar al mismo tiempo profunda atencion a la proteccion y cuidado de ellos, senalo.
Dijo que los organos de investigacion cientifica tienen que impulsar activamente los estudios para conseguir buenas variedades de arbol, que tengan gran valor economico y convengan a las condiciones climaticas y del suelo de nuestro pais, y difundirlas ampliamente.
El Dirigente Kim Jong Il exhorto a todo el partido, todo el ejercito y todo el pueblo a movilizarse en la labor de forestacion e impulsarla con dinamismo a fin de legar a las generaciones venideras la patria llena de bosques copiosos y montes convertidos en "oros" y "tesoros".

Kim Yong Nam se reune con Xi Jinping
Pyongyang, 9 de agosto (ATCC) -- El presidente del Presidium de la Asamblea Popular Suprema de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea, Kim Yong Nam, quien realiza una visita a China para participar en la ceremonia inaugural de los XXIX Juegos Olimpicos, converso el dia 8 en un ambiente amistoso en el Gran Palacio del Pueblo de Beijing con Xi Jinping, miembro del Comite Permanente del Buro Politico del CC del Partido Comunista de China y vicepresidente de la Republica Popular China.
En la ocasion el vicepresidente chino recordo que en junio pasado cuando realizaba una visita a Corea, fue recibido por el estimado camarada Kim Jong Il y tratado hospitalariamente por el partido y gobierno de Corea.
Fortalecer la tradicional amistad China-Corea es la inconmovible orientacion estrategica del partido y gobierno de China, ratifico y expreso su conviccion de que esta inquebrantable amistad se desarrollara constantemente bajo cualquier situacion internacional.
Cada vez que China entraba en los tiempos importantes y trascendentales, el partido y el gobierno de Corea enviaron activo apoyo y respaldo en varias esferas, senalo y agrego que la llegada de la delegacion de alto nivel de Corea para la ceremonia inaugural de los Juegos Olimpicos deviene energico apoyo al gobierno y pueblo de China.

Acto por aniversario 20 de visita al campamento secreto del monte Paektu
Samjiyon, 9 de agosto (ATCC) -- Tuvo lugar el dia 9 en el lugar sagrado del sol el acto central por el XX aniversario de la direccion en el terreno al Campamento Secreto del monte Paektu por el Presidente Kim Il Sung y el Dirigente Kim Jong Il y el XX aniversario de la denominacion del "Pico Jongil".
Por la indicacion del Presidente, los ex-combatientes revolucionarios antijaponeses habian visitado varias veces este campamento.
En agosto del 75 (1986) de la Era Juche, el Presidente recorrio personalmente la region del monte Paektu y dio la instruccion de realizar la exploracion del valle de Sobaeksu.
El 10 de agosto del 77 (1988) de la Era Juche, cuando volvio a visitar el Campamento Secreto del monte Paektu ya restaurado en su aspecto original, certifico totalmente los preciosos materiales historicos de la revolucion recordando una tras otra las huellas dejadas hace medio siglo.
Y propuso llamar con el nombre del Dirigente Kim Jong Il el pico situado detras de la casa natal de este y grabar en el las letras de "Pico Jongil".
De esta manera, quedaron pegadas en ese pico de mas de mil 790 metros sobre el nivel del mar las masas de granito en que fue esculpido el nombre del Dirigente.
Al conclave asistieron Kim Yong Chun, Kim Il Chol y otros cuadros, los funcionarios directivos de los organismos del partido, fuerzas armadas, organizaciones de masas, ministerios y organos centrales, los oficiales y soldados del Ejercito Popular de Corea, los miembros de la Brigada de Construccion 18 de Junio, los funcionarios y trabajadores de la provincia de Ryanggang y del distrito de Samjiyon.

La visita al Campamento Secreto del monte Paektu en agosto del 77 (1988) de la Era Juche del Presidente Kim Il Sung y el Dirigente Kim Jong Il fue un evento historico de significado trascendental en el desarrollo de la revolucion coreana para glorificar las tradiciones revolucionarias del monte Paektu y llevar a feliz termino de generacion en generacion la causa revolucionaria del Juche, comenzo el orador y prosiguio:
El Pico Jongil es testigo presencial de las imborrables hazanas revolucionarias del Presidente y la heroina de lucha antijaponesa Kim Jong Suk grabadas en el campamento secreto.
Ademas, es majestuosa colina de la historia que salvaguardo el nacimiento del Lucero del monte Paektu y transmite a todo el mundo el orgullo de la nacion coreana de contar con este.
La inscripcion de la palabra "Pico Jongil" en el mismo, donde se palpita el espiritu del monte Paektu, agrando mas la importancia de esta montana.
Igualmente, convirtio los lugares de antiguo combate revolucionario y los historicos de la revolucion de esa region, distribuidos en torno al campamento secreto del monte Paektu, en la fuente de la revolucion coreana, la importante base de educacion en las tradiciones revolucionarias y el patrimonio eterno que sera legado a las generaciones venideras.
Durante su visita al campamento realizada el 18 de agosto del 77 (1988) de la Era Juche, el Dirigente aclaro los problemas de principios para acondicionar los lugares de antiguo combate revolucionario en la region del monte Paektu y presento las tareas para protegerlos y convertir esta region en la poderosa base de educacion en las tradiciones revolucionarias y en el magnifico destino turistico.
Durante 20 anos despues de esa visita, los lugares de antiguo combate revolucionario y los historicos de la revolucion de la provincia de Ryanggang, incluyendo la region del monte Paektu, se transformaron magnificamente.
Por ultimo, el orador llamo al ejercito y al pueblo de Corea a defender resueltamente y desarrollar con brillantez las tradiciones revolucionarias del Paektu con la bandera del Songun en alto para impulsar sin tregua la revolucion del Juche superando las multiples dificultades y pruebas.
Minju Joson demanda cancelar "pacto" Sur de Corea-EE.UU
Pyongyang, 9 de agosto (ATCC) -- Debe ser cancelado el "Pacto de defensa mutua" Sur de Corea-EE.UU., que fue utilizado por este como aparato de dominacion sobre el Sur de Corea y de agresion a toda Corea.
Demanda asi el periodico Minju Joson en un comentario individual publicado en su edicion de este sabado y continua:
Derrotado en la pasada guerra coreana de 3 anos, EE.UU. se vio obligado a firmar el acuerdo de armisticio.
Pero, solo a los 12 dias de la entrada en vigor del acuerdo, exactamente dicho, el 8 de agosto de 1953, el imperio invento el "pacto de defensa mutua" que le otorgo el derecho a ubicar por tiempo indefinido en el Sur de Corea y su contorno a sus fuerzas terrestres, navales y aereas bajo el pretexto de "hacer frente a la amenaza del comunismo".
Por resultado, se dio la realidad contrastante en la Peninsula Coreana, o sea, la parte Norte sin ningun efectivo foraneo y la parte Sur senoreada por un gran numero de tropas estadounidenses enclavadas ahi.
En virtud de ese pacto, EE.UU. prolonga infinitamente la presencia de sus tropas en el Sur de Corea e intensifica el dominio y subyugacion a este controlando por medio de estos efectivos las arterias politicas, militares, economicas, culturales y de otras ramas surcoreanas.
Como demuestran el curso de creacion del "pacto de defensa mutua" y la evolucion de la situacion posterior, la nacion coreana no puede evadir desgracias sin eliminar a los agresores y vendepatrias.
Para defender y exaltar la soberania nacional, prevenir la guerra, preservar la paz y lograr la reunificacion independiente, es preciso desplegar con dinamismo la lucha antiyanqui y anti-Lee Myung Bak.
