Message to S. Side
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- A sand transport ship of the south side "Dongi-1" collided with a fishing boat of the north side at a point 4.6 nautical miles east of Kosong at around 2:25 on August 12 when it was sailing toward the south side with sand on board.
The chief of the military working personnel of the north side in the area under the control of the north and the south along the East Coast Wednesday sent the following message to the south side in this regard:
This accident happened because the captain of the south side's transport ship failed to see the fishing boat of the north side before his ship as he was steering the ship alone after letting its crewmen, who felt tired, go to sleep.
The crewmen of the transport ship admitted this in unison.
The serious accident that occurred due to the south side's mistake caused such grave consequences as leaving two innocent fishermen of the north side dead and sinking its boat.
The north side, however, taking into due consideration the fact that it accidentally took place in the middle of night, decided to take a compatriotic measure of sending back the transport ship and its crew to the south side.
According to this measure, the above-said ship of the south side and its crew left Jangjon Port this afternoon.

They noted that the Juche-oriented revolutionary outlook on the leader gave a clear scientific exposition that the great leader is the mental mainstay that humankind craved for so eagerly as he indicates the way for the people to carve out their destiny and instills inexhaustible creative power into them and lucidly enunciates the idea that the undisputed trust in the leader of the revolution is the most important life and soul for a revolutionary.
They stressed that the tradition of the revolutionary outlook on the leader is the core of the revolutionary traditions of Mt. Paektu and the roots of the shining victories and successes achieved in the past 8 decade-long revolutionary struggle in Korea.
The ideas and theories on the education in loyalty clarified by Kim Jong Il in the work serve as highly important guidelines to be always held fast to in fully preparing officials as vanguard fighters devotedly defending the leader, firmly equipped with the revolutionary outlook on the leader and a great banner for consolidating the single-minded unity of the party and revolutionary ranks, they noted, and continued:
For the past two decades the ideas and theories on establishing a revolutionary outlook on the leader have fully displayed validity and vitality with their tremendous attraction and dynamism.

Laudable First Generation of Korean Revolution
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- The Korean revolution started and has emerged victorious in the self-sacrificing spirit of the true revolutionaries who were possessed of firm confidence in the future and lofty outlook on life.
The first generation of the Korean revolution is none other than the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters.
The anti-Japanese war could not be launched without the will to lay down lives in those years of ordeals for the Korean nation when the Japanese imperialists mercilessly massacred people everywhere they went.
However, the first generation of the Korean revolution devoted all their youth and lives to the struggle for the liberation of the country and the happiness of the people and pioneered the road of the Juche-oriented revolution with blood.
At the dawn of the revolution, the members of the Down-with-Imperialism Union held President Kim Il Sung in high esteem and remained faithful to their leader with confidence, obligation and principles in any adversity, thus giving the origin to the unity and cohesion.
The anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters created a brilliant model of defending the leader with their lives, the life and soul of the Korean revolution, and displayed the lofty traits of revolutionaries.
The 7th regiment led by O Jung Hup, with a firm belief that to protect the headquarters was immediately to defend the heart of the Korean revolution, fought for the safety of the headquarters, beating down enemy soldiers right and left during the Arduous March in the 1930s.
In the indomitable revolutionary spirit of self-reliance of creating things out of nothing the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters manufactured wooden guns and Yongil Bombs at the arsenals in the thick forests and made military uniforms for a battalion or a regiment with two-three sewing machines.
They were brazen to hold football matches under the situation in which huge amounts of enemy forces were on all sides, willingly took grass roots and snow as their meal and shouted at the last moments of life that they sighted the victory of the revolution. This revolutionary optimism of the anti-Japanese forerunners stroke terror into the heart of the enemy.
President Kim Il Sung writes in his reminiscences "With the Century": The veterans of the anti-Japanese revolution fought to make history, rather than leave their names in history. c If we had taken up arms to leave our names in history, we would have been unable to achieve a great historical success, now known as the history of the anti-Japanese revolution by the present generation.
Today, the third and fourth generations of the Korean revolution are striving harder to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche with the indomitable spirit of the anti-Japanese martyrs as their ideological and mental pillar.
Full Play to Revolutionary Spirit of Mt. Paektu Called for
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today editorially calls upon all the people to give fuller play to the mettle of Songun Korea in the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu, single-mindedly united around General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
The strong mental power of the Korean people who have decorated annals of the revolution with the undying heroic epic under the leadership of the party and the leader is based on the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu, the editorial says, and goes on:
All the epoch-making victories and successes achieved in the Korean revolution and construction would have been unthinkable without the charging spirit, the indomitable fighting spirit and the spirit of independence, the spirit the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners fully displayed to break through any ordeals, fight it out and liberate the country and build a socialist paradise by their own efforts.
The victories won by the Korean people in the two grim revolutionary wars were military miracles brought by the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu, and this spirit was source of the stamina of Chollima whereby the powerful socialist country, independent in politics, self-sufficient in the economy and self-reliant in national defence, was built on the ruins. The revolutionary soldier spirit and the Kanggye spirit, created in the period of "Arduous March" and forced march, were also a brilliant embodiment of the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu.
When we fight in the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu we can defeat any formidable enemy and there will be neither hardships nor fortress impossible for us to overcome or conquer. This is the historical review of the Korean revolution and construction.
The revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu is the everlasting spirit of Korea and the Korean people are men of mental power who have armed themselves with this spirit under the leadership of the great party. The Korean revolution's mainstay of ideology and spirit remains unchanged though there was the change of generations and centuries. The revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu serves as an invariable ideological and moral pillar of the Korean people forever.
All the party members and other working people should hold fast to this spirit as an ever-victorious treasured sword and conduct a vigorous offensive to reach the high peak of the building of a great prosperous powerful nation and thus demonstrate all over the world the mettle of the heroic people who have grown to be men of ideology and faith under the care of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, the editorial concludes.
Japanese Reactionaries' Moves against Chongryon under Fire
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries are escalating the offensive of economic pressure to suffocate and disorganize the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) as evidenced by the moves to totally withdraw the measures taken by local self-governing bodies for reducing the taxes for the fixed properties of all Chongryon-related facilities across Japan.
Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:
The Japanese reactionaries' frantic suppression of Chongryon is a revelation of their hostile policy towards the DPRK. It is obviously nothing but a vicious and mean move to destroy and stifle Chongryon, a legitimate organization of overseas citizens of the DPRK.
Their brutal suppression of Chongryon is a crime diametrically running counter to international law and humanitarian norms and principles, the commentary notes, and goes on:
By intensifying this suppression they seek to retrieve the Japanese imperialists' defeat and evade the responsibility to redress their past crimes.
They are becoming frantic in their moves to suppress and destroy Chongryon by bringing groundless charges against it and mobilizing even state power, while shelving the issue of liquidating Japan's past crimes, a key issue concerning the DPRK-Japan relations.
Chongryon and Koreans in Japan have struggled to protect their national identity and interests and democratic rights, subject to national discrimination in Japan. The Japanese reactionaries' hysteric crackdown upon them is a serious human rights abuse contrary to the human ethics and morality and the spirit of humanitarianism and a rash act of infringing upon and mocking at the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK.
With nothing can the Japanese reactionaries justify their anti-DPRK, anti-Chongryon moves. They are unpardonable.
Their desperate efforts to do harm to the DPRK and Chongryon would only rapidly heighten the hatred of the servicepersons and people of the DPRK against Japan.
Japan would be well advised to bear this in mind and stop at once the anti-Chongryon, anti-DPRK hysteria which only pushes the situation to a grave phase.
Japan's Dangerous Moves to Reorganize SDF Blasted
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries are now busy reorganizing the Ground "Self-Defense Force". This is intended to prepare the SDF in such a way as to get it capable of coping with any modern war and play an important role in igniting a war of aggression overseas any time and executing it.
Minju Joson today observes this in a signed commentary.
It goes on:
The aim sought by the Japanese reactionaries through this is to rapidly convert the SDF which was organized and systematized to serve the purpose of the so-called "defence" according to the principle of "exclusive defence" into armed forces for mounting preemptive attacks in a war.
This move is posing a grave threat to the peace in Asia and the rest of the world and further straining the situation in the vicinity of Japan, in particular.
Japan is rushing headlong into militarism and made the DPRK the primary target of its strike.
The DPRK can never remain an onlooker to the moves of the Japanese reactionaries posing a grave military threat to it, while whetting its sword to stage a comeback to Korea. It is following them with a high degree of vigilance.
If Japan finally launches re-invasion despite the repeated warnings from the DPRK, it will give vent to the grudge against Japan pent up for more than a century and send the whole of Japan, a country of islands, into the bottom of the sea. This is the unanimous will and tough stand of the servicepersons and people of the DPRK to struggle against Japan.
Japan should learn the truth that this extraordinary readiness and will are guaranteed by full capability.
The Japanese reactionaries would be well advised to halt such rash acts.
Rodong Sinmun on Imperialists' Sanctions and Pressure
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- It is a trite method for the imperialists to isolate and blockade internationally and enfeeble those countries that incur their displeasure through sanctions and pressure in a bid to bring about regime changes there.
Rodong Sinmun today says this in a by-lined article.
It goes on:
The imperialists are now becoming evermore undisguised in their sanctions and pressure upon the anti-imperialist, independent countries.
They have pulled up those countries over "human rights issues" and "absence of democracy" for the mere reason that they refused to follow them. Not content with this, they are putting sanctions and pressure upon these countries, charging them with ''drug trafficking," ''proliferation of WMDs'' and ''flesh traffic" and the like. Through this they seek to isolate the above-said countries worldwide and set up "governments serving them" and thus realize their ambition to dominate the world. In a word, the imperialists' rackets of sanctions and pressure are a wanton infringement upon the sovereignty of the independent countries and a product of their sinister plot to realize the above-mentioned ambition.
The article cites facts to prove that the U.S. is now escalating its sanctions and pressure upon such sovereign countries as Myanmar, Syria, Belarus, Iran and Zimbabwe. This is censured and condemned by the world public for being an infringement upon the sovereignty of these countries and interference in their internal affairs.
All facts go to prove that neither sanctions nor pressure can be a solution to any problem, concludes the article.
Police Suppression Flayed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Progress of south Korea went on a one-man demonstration all at once outside 165 police stations across south Korea on August 11 in demand of the dismissal of the chief of the puppet Police Office and the disbandment of "Paekgoldan".
The organization called a press conference in Seoul that day in connection with the demonstration.
At the press conference it charged that the police authorities are these days getting hell-bent on "people-hunting" with bloodshot eyes, even setting bounty.
It said: The police have committed outrages against people and walked them away indiscriminately. Not content with this, they are hell-bent in "man-hunting" after forming the "Paekgoldan". Such reckless actions are an insult to many martyrs who fell in the past struggle of decades for democratization and a threat to the people.
It declared that one-man demonstrations would be launched all at once in front of the police stations in different areas including Seoul, Pusan, Kwangju, Taejon, Inchon, Ulsan, Kyonggi Province and North and South Kyongsang provinces at 12:00 that day in order to check the police's frantic suppression.
It stressed that it would conduct a 100,000-people signature campaign urging the "National Assembly" to dismiss the chief of the Police Office in major cities across south Korea on August 13, set the period of intensive information activities till August 22 and build up all-people opinion for the dismissal of the police chief and disbandment of "Paekgoldan".
The organization also said that it would sponsor a 100,000-people "mass on situation" on August 23 in solidarity with Buddhist, civic and public organizations.
Lee Myung Bak Group's Fascist Suppression Assailed
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- Workers, youth and students, netizens and other citizens of Seoul on August 9 staged a protest against the Lee Myung Bak group's fascist suppression and moves to put media under its control.
Members of the "2008 Vanguard for Independent Reunification in Seoul Area" and citizens held an event "grand march for Seoul free from the U.S. forces in order to realize total renegotiations on American beef import, get the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration implemented and achieve peace and reunification."
At the event the chief of the vanguard and other speakers recalled that the world public is branding traitor Lee Myung Bak keen on sycophancy toward the U.S. as "a pet dog of Bush".
They declared they would continue candlelight actions in order to build a free and peaceful society free from the U.S. forces on this land.
They called upon all the citizens of Seoul to hold high the candlelight of independence, peace and reunification on August 15 when the 100th candlelight action will be staged in order to put an end to the humiliating "alliance" with the U.S.
The participants conducted information activities calling for defending the sovereignty of the nation and achieving peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Then followed the 94th candlelight rally.
At the end of the rally its participants formed a "march group" before staging a demonstration.
Meanwhile, there was a candlelight rally to denounce traitor Lee Myung Bak group's moves to put broadcasting services under its control in front of the KBS Office under the sponsorship of the All-People Action to Check Moves to Control Broadcasting Services and Suppression of Netizens grouping at least 540 organizations.
