Kim Yong Nam Receives Credentials from Serbian Ambassador
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, received credentials from Serbian Ambassador to the DPRK Miomir Udovicki at the Mansudae Assembly Hall today.
On hand were Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kung Sok Ung and a staff member of the Serbian embassy.
After receiving the credentials, Kim had a talk with the ambassador.
Youth Day Celebrated
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- Youth and students in various parts of the country significantly celebrated the Youth Day which falls on today.
Kim Yong Nam, Kim Yong Il, Yang Hyong Sop, Kim Jung Rin, Kim Ki Nam and Choe Yong Rim and leading officials of party and power bodies and working peoples' organizations in Pyongyang and local areas visited Kim Il Sung University, the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex, the Taean Heavy Machine Complex, the Pyongyang General Printing Plant, the Chollima Steel Complex, the Migok Co-op Farm in Sariwon City and other industrial establishments, farms and universities to congratulate the young people on the Youth Day.
Senior party and state officials together with youth and students laid floral baskets, bouquets and flowers and made bows before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and paintings portraying the smiling President and monuments to revolutionary activities of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu standing at different units.
They were briefed on the immortal exploits of the peerlessly great men and successes achieved by the youth and students in the rooms for the education of the revolutionary history and rooms dedicated to their histories.
They went round production sites and campuses and met exemplary officials and members of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League and young innovators to congratulate them on their successes.
The young people across the country had colorful events including art performances, sports and amusement games, dancing parties and oratorical contests on the day.
Dancing Parties of Youth and Students Held
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- Dancing parties of youth and students were held in various parts of the country today to mark the Youth Day.
Plazas of the Tower of the Juche Idea, the Monument to Party Founding, the April 25 House of Culture and other dancing places in Pyongyang were full of youth and students with pride of taking the lead in performing feats in the general offensive to brilliantly decorate the grand festival in September.
As "Our Father Is Marshal Kim Jong Il" resounded forth in the dancing venues, the participants began to dance, with pleasure of youth enjoying true life and happiness under the care of the great father.
Youth and students presented beautiful dances to the tunes of such songs as "Our Party Is Proud of Youth", "Girl on Steed" and "Whistle" representing their pride and honor of bringing into bloom their ideal and aspiration through the drive to build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation true to the noble intention of the party.

Korean Youths, Vanguard and Shock Brigade in Socialist Construction
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- Youth Day (August 28) is being significantly celebrated in the DPRK.
The young men and women take this opportunity to look back upon the proud history of the Korean youth movement with deep emotion.
There are so many known and unknown young people who made a breakthrough for advance in difficult and toilsome sectors, following the young heroes of the first generation of the revolution and those of the Fatherland Liberation War.
The young people constructed many objects including the Haeju-Hasong Railway Line, the Kanggye Youth Power Station, the Songnam Youth Coal Mine and the Rothan Youth Forestry Station.
The Anbyon Youth Power Station, the Youth Hero Motorway, the Hungju Youth Power Station, the Hamhung City Youth Goat Farm, the Yonggwang Youth Fish Farm and Thaechon Youth Power Station No. 4 were built in the Songun era. All the monumental edifices named after Chongnyon (youth) are associated with the indomitable fighting spirit, wisdom and strong mettle of young men and women.
The graduates of the Sinanju Girls' Senior Middle School (then) went collectively to the Sangso Co-operative Farm in Juche 66 (1977) to form a youth sub-workteam. In 30-odd years since then, such sub-workteams have grown to thousands.
Young people are performing feats in the difficult and labor-consuming sectors of socialist economic construction.
In the past many young men and women have been honored with the title of hero, "Kim Il Sung Youth Honour Prize" and high state decorations.

National Seminar on Undying Exploits of Peerlessly Great Men Held
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- A national seminar on the immortal exploits President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il performed by founding and developing the Democratic People's Republic of Korea took place at the People's Palace of Culture today.
Attending at the seminar were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Yong Jin, Minister of Education, officials of party and administrative bodies and working people's organizations at national level and in Pyongyang and scientific, educational, literary and art and media organs and those of party cadre training institutions and in the field of preservation of revolutionary relics.
The seminar heard five papers explaining and proving the immortal and great exploits the peerlessly great men performed by founding the DPRK, developing the people's power and building a rich and powerful nation.
Speakers at the seminar said that the President clarified long ago the idea that a revolutionary struggle was aimed at defeating the Japanese imperialists and setting up a regime of workers and peasants, gave origin to the building of people's power in the days of the bloody anti-Japanese struggle and performed immortal exploits by establishing the first people's power in the liberated land and founding the DPRK.
They stressed that what was important among the leadership feats performed by the President who glorified the Republic as an independent power was that he provided a great guiding idea of carving out the destiny of the country and the nation, set an example of independent politics in the era in settling all issues arising in state activities in line with the basic requirements and interests of the people and built a strong national power whereby the Korean people could firmly protect their ideology, system and cause by their own efforts.

Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- A poster for the Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Show celebrating the 60th birthday of the DPRK was produced.
Depicted in the poster, created by the Organizing Committee of the Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Festival, are beautiful Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia brought into full bloom by the unanimous desire of the Korean people and the world progressives boundlessly revering and following the peerlessly great men.

Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Work Observed
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today dedicates a signed article to the fifth anniversary of the publication of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's work on thoroughly implementing the line of economic construction in the era of Songun.

Birthday of DPRK to Be Observed in Denmark
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- A Danish preparatory committee for celebrating the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the DPRK was inaugurated with due ceremony in Copenhagen on Aug. 22.
At the inaugural ceremony Anders Kristensen, chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.
The preparatory committee set a celebration period from the end of August to September 10 and decided to hold colorful political and cultural events including a meeting and a film show and issue a special bulletin in the period.
Bulletin Issued in Mexico
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- The Mexican Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea released bulletin No. 23 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the DPRK.
The bulletin said in an article that the foundation of the DPRK marked a historic event that paved the way for building a powerful socialist state in Korea.

The government of the Republic regarded the Juche idea, Songun idea founded by President Kim Il Sung as a unique guiding principle and fully embodied it in all fields of state activities.

Day of Korea's Liberation Marked in Philippines
Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- The Philippines Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in the Korean Peninsula released a statement on Aug. 15 to mark the 63rd anniversary of Korea's liberation.
The statement noted that the Korean people demonstrated to the world their strong will in the 20-year-long war against the Japanese imperialists and then the will of the nation in the war with the U.S. imperialists and the struggle against the U.S and Japan's hostile policy toward the DPRK.
Expressing belief that the Korean people would achieve the prosperity, peace and reunification of the country under the seasoned leadership of Kim Jong Il, it said that the committee would positively introduce their just struggle and conduct vigorous solidarity activities supporting it.

Pyongyang, 28 de agosto (ATCC) -- Miomir Udovicki presento este jueves en el capitalino Palacio de los Congresos Mansudae ante Kim Yong Nam, presidente del Presidium de la Asamblea Popular Suprema de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea, sus cartas credenciales que le acreditan como embajador extraordinario y plenipotenciario de la Republica de Serbia en Corea.

Corea festeja Dia de la Juventud
Pyongyang, 28 de agosto (ATCC) -- Los jovenes y estudiantes de todas las partes de Corea conmemoraron hoy significativamente el Dia de la Juventud.
Kim Yong Nam, Kim Yong Il, Yang Hyong Sop, Kim Jung Rin, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Yong Rim, los funcionarios directivos de los organos del partido y el Poder y de las entidades de masas en el centro y localidades visitaron la Universidad Kim Il Sung, el Complejo de Locomotoras Electricas Kim Jong Thae, el Complejo de Maquinaria Pesada de Taean, el Combinado de Imprenta de Pyongyang, el Complejo de Acero Chollima, la granja cooperativa de Migok de la ciudad de Sariwon y otras fabricas, empresas, granjas y universidades, donde felicitaron a los jovenes.
