The statement accused the puppet intelligence service and police of searching offices of the solidarity and its regional branches and arresting its Executive Chairman Choe Han Uk and other leading members of the organization on the same day on charges of violation of the "National Security Law."

Such repressive campaign is nothing but a foolish attempt to deliberately create a new terror-ridden atmosphere under the pretext of "security" on the strength of the NSL in a bid to put down the candlelight actions and tide over the crisis, it noted, and continued:

The crackdown upon the righteous organization, which has worked for the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, reveals the Lee Myung Bak "government's" sinister intention to bring the south-north relations to collapse.

Strongly condemning the security authorities for trying to fake up outdated conspiratorial cases to destroy the progressive organizations, the statement declared that the solidarity would wage a more stubborn struggle to defend and implement the said declarations and bring earlier the peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula, braving the security authorities' suppression.
