The tournament held in Vietnam in September brought together volleyball teams of the DPRK, Vietnam, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Australia and New Zealand.

The four teams that proved successful in league matches played knock-out matches.

The DPRK team trounced the teams of Vietnam, Thailand and Australia 3-0 and the team of New Zealand 3-1 in league matches and snubbed the team of Vietnam 3-1 in the semi-finals before advancing to the finals.

The DPRK players beat the team of Kazakhstan 3-1 in the finals.

Player Min Ok Ju was awarded the prize for the best organizer and the prize for the best server and player Kim Ok Hui the prize for the best free defender.
