The championships brought together nearly 80 ace boxers from 10 odd countries and regions, including the DPRK, China and Kazakhstan.

There DPRK boxers won four gold, two silver and three bronze medals and Kim Hyang OK was awarded the prize for combativeness.

Jong Ok placed first in the 46kg class bout, Kim Hye Yong in the 60kg, Ri Hyon Hwa in the 63kg and Ri Suk Yong in the 66kg.

Kim Hyang Ok and Jang Un Hui snatched silver medals each in the 50kg and the 70kg. Ri Jong Hyang, Tong Song Hye and Yun Kum Ju bagged bronze medals in the 48kg, the 52kg and the 57kg.
