Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- The Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration of south Korea released a statement on Sept. 29 in protest against the puppet authorities' suppression of the organization.
The statement accused the police of walking off the executive chairman of the solidarity on charges of "murder and threat".
This is a sheer fabrication, which indicates what extent the repressive moves of the present regime to revive fascist dictatorship have reached, the statement held, and continued:
The police's arrest of the executive chairman who waged a positive struggle for democracy in south Korea and national reunification is part of the crackdown upon the progressive forces and the movement for reunification.
The tentacles of suppression stretched by the present regime to the overall student movement are arousing serious apprehension, the statement noted, demanding the security authorities stop the reckless arrest of innocent people at once and release the arrestees without delay.
