Pyongyang, October 11 (KCNA) -- The Mexican Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea published bulletin No. 26 titled "The fundamental principle for the solution of the issue of Korea's reunification" carrying photographs showing the revolutionary activities of General Secretary Kim Jong Il on the occasions of the 28th anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo and the first anniversary of the historic October 4 declaration. The bulletin said in an article that the United States has persistently obstructed the reunification after dividing Korea into two parts with a wild ambition to dominate Asia and other parts of the world by using the Korean Peninsula as a springboard. The issue of Korea's reunification is, in essence, the matter of retaking half of its territory from the domination of foreign forces and establishing the sovereignty of the nation throughout Korea, the bulletin noted, and went on: For the Korean nation reunification means national independence and vice versa. It was by no means fortuitous that "By our nation itself," the idea of national independence, was projected at the inter-Korean summit held in June 2000. The reunification of Korea is sure to be achieved when different political parties, organizations and people of all strata in the north and the south firmly unite, giving priority to the nation's great idea of achieving reunification irrespective of idea and ism and partisan interests and strategy and all Koreans respect and sincerely implement the idea of "By our nation itself". The bulletin called on the international community to reject foreign interference in the issue of Korea's reunification and obstructions to its solution and support the Korean people in the struggle to achieve without fail the reunification of the country under the uplifted banner of national independence. |
