A press release was read out at the conference. It charged that far from reflecting on his wrongs before the candlelight of anger raised by millions of people, Lee Myung Bak is carrying out reprisal on the people involved in the candlelight actions and obstructing the reunification movement by dint of the "National Security Law".

The Intelligence Service acts as the chief executor of such dictatorial policy of the Lee Myung Bak "government", the release said, and went on:

On September 27 the IS searched offices of the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration in Seoul and other 27 areas and the June 15 TV, the June 15 Press and other institutions run by the solidarity without warrants and confiscated documents from them.

It has also got hell-bent on such smear campaign as fabricating official documents while asking the court for warrants of arrest for core members of the solidarity.

The June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration should be implemented to the letter to achieve the national reunification at an early date, the release said, demanding that the IS stop illegal violence against human rights and dismantle itself at once and discontinue the smear campaign against the solidarity.
