Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- More than 40 political parties and civic and public organizations of south Korea including the Democratic Labor Party and the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification called a press conference outside the U.S. embassy in Seoul on Oct. 7 at which they denounced the U.S. shameless act.
Speakers at the press conference assailed the U.S. for having illegally used the premises of the U.S. embassy, etc. in Seoul for several decades without paying a single penny.
The U.S. has used the area of the U.S. embassy and its premises, etc. in Seoul without paying any rent since 1980, too, when the shackling "memorandum of understanding" that allowed the U.S. to use the embassy building free of charge lost its validity, they held, adding that the rent it has not paid to south Korea since then amounts to more than 250 billion won.
They declared that they would take a strong legal action to wrest apology from the U.S. for illegally using the area of the U.S. embassy and punish those responsible for it.
