Present there were officials of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon including Ho Jong Man, chief vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, and those in local areas, officials, advisers, journalists and editors of the Korean News Service and other officials in the field of media.

Introduced there were congratulatory messages sent by the Korean Central News Agency and Chongryon organizations at all levels on the occasion of the anniversary.

Pak Ku Ho, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, in his congratulatory speech said that it is entirely thanks to the wise guidance of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and the particularly warm fatherly care shown by them that the Korean News Service has proudly covered a patriotic path, sharing its destiny with the homeland despite the Japanese reactionaries' vicious anti-DPRK moves and brutal suppression of Chongryon.

Yang In Won, director general of the service, in a report declared that all officials of the service would make all efforts to develop the media activities as intended and desired by Kim Jong Il, deeply cherishing the unshakable faith that they will certainly emerge victors as long as they are led by Kim Jong Il.

A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted there.
