Present there were representatives of different civic and public organizations and political parties including the Solidarity for Progress in south Korea, the South Side Committee of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification, Women's Solidarity of south Korea, the Citizens' Solidarity for Democratic Society, the All-People Action for Checking Moves to Control Broadcasting and Suppression of Netizens, the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the Federation of Health and Medical Organizations and the Democratic Labor Party.

Speakers at the meeting said that unpopular actions of the Lee Myung Bak regime going against the times were getting pronounced as the days go by.

They declared that they could no longer tolerate the suppression of people intensified by the present regime under the pretext of "security" and its wrong policy.

People should not merely criticize Lee Myung Bak's acts of treachery but form a front of anti-dictatorship struggle and launch full-dressed actions, they stressed.

A declaration read out there noted that the people's living has deteriorated and the economic crisis further deepened since the appearance of the present regime.

It stressed that over hundreds of organizations in different parts of south Korea would actively turn out in the above-said actions and proclaim the formation of the solidarity body on October 25.
