Speakers at the meeting denounced the military authorities for running amuck to expand the drill ground in a bid to invade the north while paying lip-service to peace and unification before people.

They called upon the people from all walks of life to win a victory in the struggle against the expansion of the above-said drill ground and thus get all the U.S. military bases in south Korea dismantled.

A resolution read out at the meeting accused the military authorities of requisitioning land after issuing an "official instruction" on the expansion of the above-said drill ground on Sept. 5.

The above-mentioned move is only escalating the military tension between the south and the north and posing a threat to the peace on the Korean Peninsula, held the resolution.

Noting that the expansion of the said drill ground is aimed, in a nutshell, at escalating the south Korea-U.S. joint military exercises to invade the north, it urged the military authorities to immediately stop its expansion.
