The statement noted that under the wise guidance of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il the WPK has successfully led the Korean people in their struggle to defend the independence of the country and build a powerful socialist state for the past more than six decades despite the moves of the U.S. imperialists and all hues of enemies.

The WPK's disinterested cooperation and solidarity with the anti-imperialist national liberation struggle and the building of new society of the world progressive people in several regions including Asia, Africa and Latin America serve as the brilliant example of internationalism, it said, and went on:

The Communist Party of Great Britain sets great store by the fraternal relations with the WPK.

We will always stand by the Korean people in their struggle to oppose the U.S. imperialists and other reactionary forces and defend the sovereignty of the country and build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation on the land of Korea.

We will strive to give wide publicity to the WPK and the Korean people under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il among the British working class and the progressive people and actively support and encourage their struggle.
