"Complete Book on Kimilsungia" and "Complete Book on Kimjongilia" Off Press

Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- "Complete Book on Kimilsungia" and "Complete Book on Kimjongilia" were published by a compilation committee grouping holders of academic degrees and titles in the horticultural field of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The above-said books explain how the flowers of the sun came into full blossom as the most famous ones in the floricultural world and comprehensively deal with the achievements made in the researches into their biological peculiarities, breeding and cultivation and their dissemination and others. "Complete Book on Kimilsungia" carries on its first page a photograph of President Kim Il Sung receiving newly-bred Kimilsungia from former Indonesian President Sukarno. The book has five parts, 14 chapters and 46 sections. The first part of the book says that Kimilsungia is the precious fruition of the progressives' profound reverence for Kim Il Sung and it is in full bloom all over the world with their genuine and warm feelings as nutrition. Its second part is devoted to scientific contents including Kimilsungia's position in taxonomy, its shape, histology, growth, photosynthetic peculiarity and requirement for light and temperature and nutritious physiological characteristics. Its third part systematically deals with the successes and experience gained in the breeding and cultivation of Kimilsungia for more than four decades after its appearance. Its fourth part tells about how the immortal flower is disseminated worldwide and how grandly immortal flower festivals have been held. The fifth part of the book is devoted to carrying some of the works created by servicepersons and people in praise of the flower symbolic of the greatness of the President. "Complete Book on Kimjongilia" carries on its first page a picture of Kim Il Sung seeing Kimjongilia, the immortal flower. The book has five parts, 15 chapters and 51 sections. Its first part tells story about Japanese horticulturist Mototeru Kamo who bred Kimjongilia, attracted by the greatness of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, and edits a letter sent by the former to the latter. Its second part deals with the flower's position in plant taxonomy and the course of its breeding, its shape and histology, peculiarities of its growth, nutritious physiological and ecological characteristics. Its third part comprehensively deals with the achievements and experience gained in the work to put the flower's breeding and cultivation on a scientific basis. The fourth part of the book is devoted to photo-accompanied information about the flower including centers for disseminating Kimjongilia in different parts of the country, the successes made in the researches into the flower and Kimjongilia festivals and shows and others. The fifth part of the book introduces some of the works written in praise of Kim Jong Il, representing all servicepersons and people's boundless reverence for the great man. |
