Joint Friendly Gathering Held

Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- A joint friendly gathering took place at the Rungrado Recreation Ground Thursday under the co-sponsorship of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, the Russian embassy here and the DPRK-Russia Friendship Association on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the DPRK and Russia.

Attending the gathering were Acting Chairman of the committee Mun Jae Chol, Vice-Chairperson of the committee Hong Son Ok who is chairperson of the association, officials concerned, Russian Ambassador to the DPRK Valery Sukhinin and staff members of his embassy.

There was first an art performance given by the State National Art Troupe.

Put on the stage were dance "Yangsando", female solo "We Are Always Confident," mixed duet "Arirang for Prosperity" and Russian songs including "Katsusha" and "Valenki."

Staff members of the Russian embassy sang songs prepared by themselves.

Then it was followed by colorful sports and amusement games.
