Polish Royal String Quartet Gives Performance in Pyongyang

Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- A performance was given by the Polish royal string quartet at the music hall of Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun Conservatory Thursday on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Poland. The performance was appreciated by Kung Sok Ung, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Han Chol, vice-minister of Culture, officials concerned, creators and artistes in the field of culture and arts, teachers and students of art educational institutions. Among the audience were Roman Iwaszkiewicz, Polish ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy, the delegation of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Vice-Minister Ryszard Schnepf and diplomatic envoys of various countries and representatives of international organizations here. The Polish instrumentalists presented C major of the string quartet by K. Szymanowski, song "Sorrow" by M. Karlowicz and D minor of string quartet by L. Rozycki with exquisite timbre, refined rendition and high artistry. |
