Celebrations Held in Mongolia

Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- A meeting and an art performance took place in Ulan Bator on Oct. 10 on the occasions of the 20th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's visit to Mongolia, the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 60th anniversary of the opening of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Mongolia. Speeches were made at the meeting. D. Tsakhilgaan, president of the Federation of Peace and Friendship Organizations of Mongolia, and Ch. Surenjav, chairman of the Mongolia-Korea Friendship Society, referred to the fact that the two countries have long-standing friendly and cooperative relations and an excellent tradition of helping and supporting each other, adding that Kim Il Sung made efforts to develop the relations between the two countries in his lifetime. The friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries are more successfully developing under the care of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, they said. There are in Mongolia the Kim Il Sung Kindergarten in Ovorhangay Province, the Kim Jong Il Kindergarten in Darhan Ol Province, the Kim Jong Suk Kindergarten in Ulan Bator City and other units which go with the august names of the three generals of Mt. Paektu, a clear expression of the Mongolian people's deep reverence for the peerlessly great persons of Korea, they stressed. A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting. Those who gave an art performance sang Korean songs including "No Motherland without You". |
