Pyongyang, October 21 (KCNA) -- The DPRK under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea founded by President Kim Il Sung and led by General Secretary Kim Jong Il has firmly upheld the red flag and steadily advanced along the road of socialism, the ideal of humankind, said Oleg Shenin, chairman of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, addressing a meeting held in Russia on Oct. 6 on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the WPK.
The WPK is the only party in the world which has led the state and its people along the road of victory, fully responsible for their destiny, he added.
Vladimir Veredin, secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, in a speech made at the meeting, noted that over the past more than six decades the WPK has demonstrated its victory and glory because the whole people are united around it as firm as a rock.
The single-minded unity of the DPRK where the whole party and army and all people are united close as one in the monolithic idea and purpose serves as the most powerful weapon in the world, he stressed.
