Probe into Truth about Criminals Demanded in S. Korea

Pyongyang, October 21 (KCNA) -- The Federation of Peasants Associations and the Federation of Women Peasants Associations of south Korea held a joint press conference in Seoul on Oct. 17 demanding a thorough probe into the truth about the criminals engrossed in irregularities and corruption, according to the south Korean CBS. Speakers at the press conference referred to the fact that high-ranking "government" officials' illegal expropriation of subsidies to rice cultivators was disclosed recently to stir up public furor. They accused those earning money through the purchase of land of taking away even subsidies to rice cultivators. They strongly urged the "government" to make a thorough probe into the above-said criminals and punish them. Prior to the press conference, members of the two organizations conducted information service for citizens. |
