Lee Myung Bak Group's Reckless Acts Flailed

Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Now the relations between the north and the south have reached the phase of acute confrontation, something unprecedented since the publication of the June 15 joint declaration. This is entirely attributable to the Lee Myung Bak clique's acts of treachery to tide over its ruling crisis through the escalated moves for confrontation with the DPRK in utter disregard of the interests of the nation.

Rodong Sinmun today observes this in a signed commentary.

It goes on:

The Lee Myung Bak group has malignantly slandered the north-south joint declarations, describing them as "products of the strategy towards the south." This group has refused to implement those declarations, peddling such watchwords of anti-DPRK, anti-reunification confrontation as "no nukes, opening and 3,000 dollars," and is busy kicking up a whirlwind of confrontation with the DPRK.

These traitors are now finding themselves in a pretty fix due to the people's massive resistance against the unpopular policy and feel fretful without knowing when a "time bomb" for candlelight actions will go off again.

The Lee Myung Bak group is regarding the "security of its power" more important than national reunification and driving the inter-Korean relations to a collapse. This is a revelation of its criminal attempt to bring back the inter-Korean relations to those of acute confrontation in the past in a bid to divert elsewhere the resistance of various social circles and tide over the crisis.

The Lee group is also getting frantic with the moves to bring a nuclear disaster to the Korean nation, acting nuclear war servants for the U.S. imperialists. This is an unpardonable act of treachery perpetrated by those in the grip of a serious crisis.

There will be disastrous consequences if the above-said traitors are allowed to bring the dark clouds of a war of aggression against the north in collusion with foreign forces, while seeking "the security of power" regardless of the fate of the country and the nation and a nuclear disaster that may hit them.

The successive treacherous ruling quarters of south Korea faced a stern judgment of history and people without exception for pursuing confrontation with the DPRK and anti-reunification policies, backed by foreign forces.

The Lee clique had better face up to the reality and behave with discretion and stop at once the treacherous acts of sacrificing the interests of the nation under the pretext of the "security of power," warns the commentary.
