The work published on Oct. 22 Juche 65(1976) clarifies the theoretical and practical issues arising in strengthening the unity and cohesion of the Party, a crucial issue in carrying out the cause of socialism that has gone on generation after generation.

Under the leadership of Kim Jong Il a monolithic system of leadership was firmly established in the Party and all its members were fully prepared as Juche-type revolutionaries and a revolutionary trait of advancing the revolution and construction only as required by the Juche idea prevailed throughout the country amidst the gigantic struggle for modeling the whole party on the Juche idea in the 1970s when the above-said work was published, the article says.

Under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il the unity and cohesion of the Workers' Party of Korea have exceptionally grown stronger at a new higher level in the era of Songun, the article notes, and goes on:

It was thanks to his Songun leadership that the revolutionary character of the WPK as the party of President Kim Il Sung has been invariably preserved and there prevailed throughout the Party a revolutionary trait of thinking and acting as required by the Juche idea, the Songun idea.

The WPK is demonstrating its dignity as a revolutionary party which has attained the unbreakable unity and cohesion in thinking and purpose and formed a harmonious whole with the popular masses after taking deep roots among them. This is the brilliant fruition of the great Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The political and ideological position remained strong and the spirit of the socialist red flag prevailed throughout the society despite so stern trial during the "Arduous March", the forced march because the Party, the headquarters of the revolution and the heart of society, was pervaded with the Juche idea, the Songun idea.

The imperialists have been frantic with the reactionary ideological and cultural poisoning and psychological warfare against the DPRK. They, however, can never break the unity and cohesion of the WPK and the revolutionary ranks in thinking and purpose which have grown strong for several decades.
