Successes Achieved by Korean People Praised

Pyongyang, October 24 (KCNA) -- Juan Vela Valdes, chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification who is minister of Higher Education in Cuba, in his speech at a meeting held on Oct. 14 to celebrate the 60th birthday of the DPRK noted that the relations between Cuba and the DPRK are friendly ones in line with the purpose of the socialist cause and the interests of the peoples of the two countries.

The Korean people have firmly defended their system despite the moves of the U.S. imperialists and their lackeys against the DPRK, the chairman said, and went on:

We regard the successes achieved by the Korean people in socialist construction as our own.

The two countries have maintained special relations of friendship and cooperation in face of the arrogant U.S. imperialists' aggression and threat.

The Cuban party and government would continue to boost the bilateral relations with the WPK and the government of the DPRK.
