The statement said:

The group of traitors labeled Jongyojo an "enemy-benefiting organization" with sheer sophism that the above-said education conducted by Jongyojo since the publication of the June 15 joint declaration "served the purpose of embellishing the north and making the conception of the principal enemy ambiguous." Worse still, the group is working hard to destroy Jongyojo by mobilizing even gangsters of an ill-famed conservative organization under the motto of "eliminating pro-north leftist forces."

The group went the lengths of searching all of a sudden an office and house of a member of Jongyojo, confiscated teaching materials and arrested and put him in custody for the mere reason that he conducted education in the reunification issue. It also barred educationists from visiting Pyongyang to take part in a meeting of educationists of the north and the south for implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

The Lee group is directing the spearhead of fascist suppression to Jongyojo after creating a terror-ridden atmosphere in south Korea under the pretext of "security." This is a fascist and anti-reunification action to stamp out the patriotic organizations for the reunification movement struggling for the implementation of the above-said declarations which represent the idea of national independence and unity and block the teachers' righteous activities for education in the reunification issue.

The Teachers Sub-Committee of the North Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration bitterly condemns such treacherous anti-reunification acts of the Lee group as savagely trampling down upon the inviolable rights and freedom of the teachers of south Korea , bringing back the era of fascist dictatorship and inciting the north-south confrontation.

Neither bayonet nor suppression can ever stamp out justice and truth.

All the teachers of the northern half of Korea will always extend full support and solidarity to Jongyojo in its just activities and firmly join hands with the teachers in the south to usher in a new era of independent reunification, peace and prosperity under the banner of "By our nation itself."
