The imperialists have become undisguised in their aggression against sovereign states and interference in their internal affairs in various parts of the world. This grave international situation requires all the world progressives to wage a vigorous struggle to defend peace.

Defending peace is a historic task common to mankind.

It is impossible for any country and nation to achieve independent development of the country and national prosperity without ensuring peace.

It is hard to push forward economic construction in peace and give play to the creative wisdom and zeal of the masses in the land where the gunfire is heard and people die, shedding blood.

Defending peace is the cause common to humankind.

Peace is dear to all the people of the world aspiring after independence. Peace can never be won by one country and nation alone. If an atmosphere of peace is created in a country or in some regions, it cannot be regarded as solid and lasting peace as long as the imperialist forces remain in the world and the root cause of war exists.

The world peace-loving people should deem it an issue of ensuring the security and peace of their countries to check and foil the imperialists' military interference and moves for aggression against sovereign states and should not stop the struggle against them even a moment. Only then the people of the countries engaged in the anti-war struggle are sure to emerge victors and this will, accordingly, create an environment favorable for ensuring world peace and security and stability.

If the world progressive people desirous of peace become more vocal in calling for peace against a war and bind the imperialists hand and foot in various parts of the world, they will grow weak and meet a doom in the end.

The world is making steady development and the people's desire for peace is growing strong. The world progressives will dynamically advance to make the 21st century a more peaceful era under the uplifted banner of the anti-imperialist struggle and the defence of peace and thus realize the desire of mankind for peace without fail.

The Korean people will make a positive struggle to ensure peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and in the rest of the world, keenly aware of their noble mission to protect peace.
