The statement recalled that the solidarity has staged dynamic actions for the country's reunification and the democracy of the society, enjoying full support of the patriotic personages and people since its formation.

It accused the present regime of getting frantic in the search and confiscation operation and arrest campaign in a bid to label it "an enemy-benefiting organization".

Noting that the Lee Myung Bak group is intensifying the crackdown upon the forces of the reunification movement under the pretext of "security", the statement said such repressive moves are little short of an undisguised declaration of a war to scrap the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and the acts to hamstring the efforts of all Koreans for the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula.

If the Lee regime is allowed to continue its rash actions, the era of independent reunification will face a serious crisis and there will be no way of preventing the inter-Korean relations from being brought back to the period of the Cold War, warned the statement.

It declared that the solidarity would stand up against the Lee Myung Bak regime and launch an all-people's struggle to "force Lee to step down".
