Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- Educationists affiliated to the History Teachers Association of south Korea launched a signature campaign titled "Declaration of History Teachers" on October 16 in protest against the moves of the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors to distort history textbooks, according to the south Korean newspaper Hangyore.
Through the signature campaign they asserted that the "government's" work to rewrite the textbooks "Modern History of south Korea" for high schools is shaking the textbook screening system to its very foundation".
Noting that they turned out in actions, unable to tolerate the "government's" action to rewrite textbooks, they stated that they would announce the "Declaration of History Teachers" signed by history teachers and scholars and others through media advertisement till the end of this month when the authorities are expected to confirm the "revision proposal."
