This is brutal suppression of democracy and an undisguised infringement upon human rights which diametrically run counter to the faith of the religionists who aspire after justice and peace and pray for national concord and reunification, the statement noted, and went on:

The "pro-north leftist forces" much touted by the group of traitors are the righteous pro-reunification movement organizations and patriotic personages that have conducted activities for the democratization of the south Korean society and the independent reunification of the country, opposed to the unpopular misrule of the present conservative "government" and its moves for confrontation with fellow countrymen.

Nevertheless, this group has desperately wielded fascist swords against the south Korean people from all walks of life who protested against the import of beef from American mad cattle and demanded the right to existence and freedom, claiming that their righteous actions were "wire-pulled" by someone "behind the scene". This is, however, nothing but an extremely rash action which can never be justified.

Those hell-bent on evil deeds are bound to face a severe judgment of the people.

It is the common ideal and mission guided by religious belief for the religionists to value justice and not to compromise with injustice.

The Korean Council of Religionists, availing itself of this opportunity, expresses expectation that all the religious organizations and religionists in south Korea will intensify the sacred patriotic struggle for decisively frustrating the fascist suppression by the group of Lee, incarnation of evil, and achieving the democratization of society and national reunification.
