Referring to the extremely abnormal situation prevailing in south Korea where the just activities conducted by the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) for rights and interests of the workers and the reunification of the country are incriminated under the absurd pretext of "eliminating pro-north leftist forces", unionists are walked off after being handcuffed and members of the Government Employees' Union of south Korea are disallowed to visit Pyongyang, the statement continued:

This is traitorous and anti-reunification rowdyism of the group of traitors aimed to stamp out all activities for democratic freedom and rights and the reunification of the country in south Korea, and an intolerable challenge to the people from all walks of life desirous of new politics, new life.

The wholesale suppression launched by the group against the progressive movement organizations including the KCTU while talking about "forces behind scene" is aimed to attain their black-hearted intention to shift the responsibility for the bedeviled north-south relations and the deterioration of the people's living caused by their sycophancy toward the U.S. and the confrontation with the DPRK onto others and tide over the ruling crisis.

All facts go to clearly prove that if the above-said group is allowed to stay in power, it will revive the pro-U.S. fascist dictatorship in south Korea to ruthlessly trample down upon the movement for independence, democracy and reunification and bring disasters to all Koreans.

All workers in the DPRK will as always wage a vigorous struggle for independent reunification and peace and prosperity together with the south Korean workers under the uplifted banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, great programmes for national reunification.
