Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification of south Korea, the Solidarity for Progress of south Korea and the Headquarters of Youth and Students of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and three other civic and social and youth and students organizations called a press conference in the front of the puppet Ministry of National Defence on Oct. 28 demanding the withdrawal of the puppet warmaniacs' plan for staging a joint landing exercise with the U.S. imperialists.

Speakers at the press conference accused the U.S. and the south Korean authorities of planning to stage the large-scale joint landing exercise as part of the "Hoguk exercises," adding that such reckless act of stabbing one with a dagger, while talking about "peace" before one can never be tolerated.

A press release read out at the press conference noted that the landing exercise is a typical offensive exercise which strongly suggests the meaning of a military threat to the north.

What is more dangerous is that the said plan is being pushed forward at a time when the Lee Myung Bak group's moves to upgrade "CONPLAN 5029" into "OPLAN" are being put into practice, it held.

It urged the Lee Myung Bak "government" to direct efforts to the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration to improve the inter-Korean relations and immediately stop the hostile acts which will strain the situation.

If the projected exercise throws bigger hurdles in the way of the inter-Korean relations, the Lee "government" will be held wholly accountable for the ensuing consequences, it warned.
