Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- The 11th People's Sports Contest of the DPRK closed with due ceremony at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium on Oct. 31.
The national records were renewed in the 18 various events of shooting, archery, field and track, swimming and weightlifting in the contest.
In the field of sports groups, players of the April 25 Sports Group emerged winners in women's football, men's and women's basketball and men's and women's volleyball, and players of the Sobaeksu Sports Group in men's football.
In the field of mass sports, players of Pyongyang city came first in men's basketball and men's and women's volleyball, and players of the Ministry of Railways in football and women's basketball.
Present at the closing ceremony were Kim Jung Rin, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kwak Pom Gi, vice-premier of the DPRK Cabinet, officials of the working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, sportspersons and working people.
