Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The U.S. bellicose forces are now contemplating setting up a new operation command for a nuclear war within one year to come. The projected U.S. nuclear operation command will reportedly specialize in commanding nuclear activities which are now looked after by five different commands and its staff is expected to be appointed soon.

Rodong Sinmun today observes in a signed commentary carried in this regard:

This is a dangerous action to spark a new Cold War as it is an adventurous scenario for launching a nuclear war.

The U.S. imperialists are the arch criminal posing a nuclear threat to the world and bringing the danger of a nuclear arms race and war to it, the commentary notes, and goes on:

What they seek in establishing the above-said command is to realize their shameless ambition for world domination with ease. During World War II the U.S. set up a strategic air forces command in order to put its overall nuclear forces under its control. During the Cold War it frantically pushed ahead with the moves for a nuclear war through the above-said command.

The above-said measure of the U.S. is part of its evermore undisguised moves for launching a nuclear war. It has become more frantic in its moves for a nuclear war since the beginning of the new century. It is the unchanged policy and strategic purpose of the U.S. imperialists to threaten, blackmail and contain other countries with nukes and realize its ambition for world domination.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Gates recently let loose a spate of outbursts that it is important for the U.S. to stockpile nuclear weapons as those countries likely to be threats to the U.S. are having access to nuclear weapons and pursuing their programs to do so and it would provide south Korea and Japan, etc. with nuclear umbrellas to cope with the "nuclear threat from north Korea." This proves that the U.S. bellicose forces seek to launch a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula at any cost.

Under the situation where they are stepping up the moves for a nuclear war, while paying lip-service to "the solution of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula," it is natural for the DPRK to bolster the war deterrent to cope with their moves.

The DPRK will steadily reinforce its war deterrent in view of the U.S. imperialists' desperate efforts to realize their scenario to seize it through a preemptive nuclear attack.
