Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- Korean paintings produced by the Mansudae Art Studio enjoy popularity among experts and amateurs for their vivid strokes and marked individuality.
Such masterpieces as "Protracted Anti-Japanese War Full of Bloody Battles" and "1994, The Year of Bitter Tears" reflect well the fiery reverence of the Korean people for the peerlessly great persons.
The Korean paintings "Lake Chon on Mt. Paektu" and "Lake Chon on Mt. Paektu in Winter" vividly show the kaleidoscopic landscape of the lake.
"Rakdong River-Crossing Battle," "Eight Fighters in Phohang," "Waves of Sea Kumgang," "Bell-Sound Rang on the Way to Front," "Polar Star," "Echo of Mt. Halla" and other Korean paintings are national treasures which truthfully depict realities with a striking cubic, light and shade and spacial effect.
Among the Korean paintings are ones of varied genres full of love for the country and native place such as "Trailblazers of Nature," "On the Way to Working Sites," "Emotional Landscape of Country Village" and "Girls Living with Pride."
The Korean paintings "Evening Glow over Kangson," "Support-the-Front of People in Kosong," "Peace" and "Mt. Kumgang in Summer" were highly appreciated in art shows held in China, Italy and other countries in the past.
The 11th Beijing International Art Exposition held this year conferred the top prize "Best Art Creation Idea" to a Merited Artist of the DPRK Choe Chang Ho who presented a number of Korean paintings to the exposition. His works reflect well peculiarities inherent to the Korean paintings.
The Korean paintings are well illustrative of the ever-developing fine-art of Juche in the Songun era.
