The idea of "By our nation itself" set forth in the historic June 15 joint declaration is the idea for reunification common to the nation that conforms with the essence and nature of the issue of national reunification and positively encourages the Koreans to the realization of national reunification, the article notes, and goes on:
The members of the nation should be implanted with the consciousness of being the driving force of national reunification and the spirit of national independence that calls for achieving the country's reunification independently by concerted efforts of the Korean nation free from outsiders' interference. Herein lies the vitality of the idea of "By our nation itself."
The said idea expounds the idea that the homogenous Koreans in the north and the south should achieve independent reunification by reconciling and closely uniting with each other on the basis of the principle of national independence and national identity.
The shining reality in the June 15 era of reunification goes to prove that any idea can never replace the idea of "By our nation itself" in the movement for national reunification and there is nothing impossible when the Koreans in the north and the south and abroad struggle, closely uniting themselves as one under the uplifted banner of the idea of "By our nation itself."
The Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should invariably uphold the idea of "By our nation itself" as the idea of national reunification in the future, too, and more vigorously wage the patriotic struggle to fully apply it to the reunification movement.
