Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- Minister of "Foreign Affairs and Trade" of south Korea Ryu Myong Hwan, speaking at the recent "inspection of administration at the National Assembly," blustered that "in case the nuclear declaration of the north is different from the results of the nuclear verification, a measure for de-lifting various sanctions against the north would be brought up for discussion, to begin with."
Rodong Sinmun today observes in a signed commentary carried in this regard:
This is nothing but an ill-natured behavior of those displeased with the processes to solve the issue of the DPRK-U.S. relations and the nuclear issues.
The improvement of the DPRK-U.S. relations would help defuse the military tension on the Korean Peninsula and bring about a phase favorable for national reunification, the desire of all Koreans.
However, the Lee Myung Bak group, which considers sycophancy towards the U.S. and dependency on foreign forces as a means of its existence, is very much afraid of the fact that the improved DPRK-U.S. relations may lead to depriving the group of the means of living. It is, therefore, leaving no means untried to bar the above-said relations from improving come what may, utterly indifferent to the destiny of the nation.
A whole string of foolish remarks let loose by the group as regards the U.S. measure for delisting the DPRK as a "state sponsor of terrorism" betrays its worry that the situation may develop quite contrary to its wishes.
It is out of this uneasiness that the Lee group expresses veiled wish to see the above-said relations fester again over the nuclear issue and let loose a spate of reckless remarks calling for "de-lifting sanctions." This brought to light once again the treacherous nature of the group keen to stifle fellow countrymen in collusion with foreign forces, opposed to the development of the DPRK-U.S. relations and the inter-Korean relations and the solution of the nuclear issue.
It is preposterous for the Lee Myung Bak group to talk about "the de-lifting sanctions," unable to face up to the trend of the times.
