Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il enjoyed together with KPA servicepersons an art performance given by artistes of the Merited State Chorus, "Unhasu," the Mansudae Art Troupe, the Phibada Opera Troupe and the National Art Troupe.
They put on the stage chorus "Please Receive Our Salute", male solo and chorus "Song of Comradeship", orchestra and chorus "The Snow Falls", female trio "The Glow over Kangson", female quartet and mixed chorus "May the Motherland Prosper" and other colorful numbers.
At the end of the performance he waved back to the cheering performers and audience and congratulated them on their successful presentation.
He expressed great satisfaction over the most splendid performance flawless in the ideological contents and artistry staged by artistes of the Merited State Chorus and other national art troupes and extended high appreciation and thanks to them for their successful performance.
The orchestra and chorus "The Snow Falls", female quartet and mixed chorus "May the Motherland Prosper" and female trio "The Glow over Kangson" which our revolutionary artistes newly created by fully displaying their wisdom and enthusiasm recently are the outstanding monumental masterpieces in the era of Songun which are of landmark significance in the development of Juche-based music, he said, adding that this shining success is a striking demonstration of the validity and vitality of the WPK's policy of literature and arts.
He expressed expectation and conviction that all the artistes would conduct dynamic revolutionary art activities in the future too, to powerfully encourage the army and people in the drive for accomplishing the cause of building a great prosperous powerful nation.
Among the audience were Choe Thae Bok and Kim Ki Nam, secretaries of the C.C., the WPK, Jang Song Thaek, Ri Kwang Ho and Kim Yang Gon, department directors of the C.C., the WPK, and other leading officials of the C.C., the WPK and KPA Generals Hyon Chol Hae and Ri Myong Su and other commanding officers of the army.
