Pyongyang, November 6 (KCNA) -- Pak Chang Gil, chairman of the Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), called a press conference at the hall of the Korean workers in commerce in Tokyo on Oct. 31 and made public a statement denouncing the Japanese authorities for their reckless and politically-motivated crackdown upon organizations of Chongryon and the Korean Federation of Workers in Commerce in Japan.
The statement referred to the fact that the public security department of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Office on Oct. 29 searched the Shinjuku, Tokyo Metropolis, Association of Korean Traders and Industrialists in Japan and other institutions under Chongryon on charges of "violation of the law on taxation".
This is one more politically-motivated suppression of Chongryon committed under the Aso regime as it is part of the measures taken to apply sanctions against the DPRK and continuation of the search moves conducted in Hyogo, Hokkaido, Kyoto and other areas since 2006, the statement pointed out.
It demanded that the Japanese authorities stop the unreasonable search for Chongryon and the association, return all seized things and ensure the right of Korean residents and commercial workers in Japan to business and their vital rights.
