Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- If the U.S. truly stands for the peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula, it should drop its anachronistic policy of military presence in south Korea and its scenario to invade the DPRK and immediately disband the south Korea-U.S. "Combined Forces Command" and quit south Korea at once taking all its forces and lethal weapons with it.
Rodong Sinmun Friday urges this in a signed commentary carried 30 years since the U.S. fabricated the south Korea-U.S. "Combined Forces Command".
The above-said command is a mechanism for aggression knocked into shape for the criminal purpose of providing a military guarantee for the U.S. imperialists' presence and domination over south Korea and executing their policy of aggression towards the DPRK and their field mechanism for a war of aggression as it blocks the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea and poses the danger of a nuclear war to the Korean nation, the commentary says, and goes on:
Grave and intolerable are the crimes the U.S. has perpetrated by pursuing the moves to perpetuate Korea's division and increasing the danger of a nuclear war through the above-mentioned mechanism.
Dialogue and peace are absolutely incompatible with confrontation and war.
The U.S. military presence and domination over south Korea are the main factor of violating the dignity and sovereignty of the Korean nation and vitiating the atmosphere of dialogue and peace on the Korean Peninsula and bringing the danger of a new war into extremes.
It is a pressing task of the times to get the above-mentioned command, the root cause of the sufferings of the Koreans, disbanded and put an end to the U.S. presence and domination over south Korea.
The Lee Myung Bak group should stop the thrice-cursed acts of treachery, bearing in mind that its persistent treacherous acts of imploring for the permanent presence of the aggressor forces in south Korea and playing the role of war servants for the U.S. would only precipitate its shameful destruction.
It is the way for the Korean nation to survive and achieve peace on the Korean Peninsula and independent national reunification of Korea to put an end to the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces' presence in south Korea only harmful to them.
