Pyongyang November 8 (KCNA) -- Labor was done at a Cuban steel works on Nov. 1 for friendship with the Korean people on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the DPRK.
Participating in the friendship labor were officials of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, the Foreign Ministry of Cuba and the steel works and the DPRK ambassador to Cuba and officials of his embassy.
Prior to the labor, the participants were briefed on the history of the works and speeches were made.
Juan Jose Leon Vega, first vice-chairman of the committee, referred to the importance of the friendship labor on the occasion of the significant holiday of the Korean people.
The heroic Korean people have successfully built Korean-style socialism in a brief span of time, he noted, and continued:
The Korean people are waging a vigorous struggle for the independent and peaceful reunification of the country.
The committee will as ever work for the reunification of Korea.
The Cuban people extend invariable support and solidarity to the fraternal Korean people.
The participants worked with workers of the steel works, deepening the bilateral friendship.
