Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- A function of naming a senior middle school in Laos Laos-DPRK Friendship School took place in a district of Vientiane City on Oct. 31.
Present there were figures of the Commission for External Affairs of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, the Laos-Korea Friendship Association and the district office and teaching staff and students of the school.
Present on invitation were the DPRK ambassador to Laos and a friendship delegation of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries on a visit to Laos.
The history of the school was introduced at the function before its name was announced.
Speeches were made there.
The vice-chairman of the friendship association said that the friendly relations between the two countries are deep-rooted relationship provided by Kaysone Phomvihane and President Kim Il Sung. He added that they would as ever consolidate and develop the traditional relations of friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
The participants planted memorial trees after appreciating an art performance of students.
