Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionary ruling forces are nowadays crying out for doing harm to the DPRK through "increased pressure" and "additional sanctions". This is, however, as foolish an act as trying to sweep the sea with a broom. Rodong Sinmun Monday observes this in a signed commentary.
The DPRK has built self-supporting national economy, remaining undeterred by Japan's persistent sanctions, and has successfully pushed forward socialist construction based on it, the commentary notes, and goes on:
It is foolish and ludicrous enough for Japan to think that the DPRK would not be able to stand on its feet without its "aid."
The DPRK does not care whether Japan puts pressure and applies sanctions against it. This is its stand. It has its own way of living. The DPRK will not be affected by any pressure or sanctions.
By "increasing pressure" and applying "additional sanctions" the Japanese reactionaries seek to fan up bitterness toward the DPRK among Japanese and satisfy their greed for power and, at the same time, torpedo the inter-governmental contact and negotiations between the DPRK and Japan and hamstring the implementation of the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration and the agreement adopted at the six-party talks.
Japan is persistently sticking to such a clumsy method to do harm to the DPRK, seized by a philistine-like way of thinking. A saying goes you scratch me and I will scratch you. The DPRK will counter Japan's measure for escalating pressure and sanctions with the toughest stand.
Japan would be well advised to behave with discretion, pondering over the grave consequences to be entailed by its anti-DPRK racket.
