Rodong Sinmun Thursday observes this in a signed commentary.
It goes on:
Japan implored the United States not to delist the DPRK as "a state sponsor of terrorism" but it became crestfallen when the latter put into force the measure. The above-mentioned despicable act was perpetrated by Japan out of the anger at the U.S. action.
Japan had already lost any justification or face to talk about human rights issues.
Japan illegally occupied Korea by force of arms, turning it into a colony of Japan early in the last century. It had mercilessly abused rights of Koreans and brutally killed them for nearly a half century.
Its human rights abuses are going on in this new century. Japan has become frantic in its moves to stifle and stamp out the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) politically and economically.
It is a mockery and challenge to international law and ethics and morality for the Japanese reactionaries to despise and suppress Chongryon and Koreans in Japan. Their suppression is a revelation of their ambition to take revenge for Japan's past defeat and national chauvinism and their hostile policy toward the DPRK and a hideous act of seriously infringing upon the independence of the Korean people and their rights. These acts are little short of committing a double or treble crime to add to their past human rights abuses.
From a historical point of view Japan is an assailant while the DPRK is a victim as far as human rights issues are concerned.
Japan should face a severe judgment at the human rights court as a top class human rights abuser and is obliged to pay the Korean people, the victim, dear price for the most hideous human rights abuses, urges the commentary.
