Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- A north-south joint seminar denouncing Japan's moves to distort history and seize Tok Islet was held in Pyongyang on Thursday.
Attending it were historians and personages concerned from the north and the south of Korea and delegates of several movement organizations in south Korea.
Reports were followed by speeches at the seminar.
The reporters and speakers said that the Japanese reactionaries' distortion of history and suppression of Koreans in Japan and their moves to seize Tok Islet have reached a more dangerous phase in the new century.
The gravity of such acts lies in that they are perpetrated in an increasingly organized manner by use of state power, pursuant to the Japanese authorities' deliberate stratagem, they held.
They vehemently denounced the Japanese reactionaries' moves as a wanton violation of the dignity and sovereignty of the Korean nation and a dangerous act to launch militarist reinvasion.
All the Koreans in the north and the south of Korea and abroad should never tolerate Japan's criminal moves but resolutely counter them by their concerted efforts under the banner of "By our nation itself," they urged.
The stand and attitude to the historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration serve as touchstone distinguishing harmony from confrontation and reunification from division, they noted, adding that whoever truly stands for reunification should support those declarations and sincerely implement them.
They underlined the need for all the Koreans to do their utmost to foil the moves of reactionaries at home and abroad keen on doing harm to the dignity and sovereignty of the nation and accelerate national reunification by their concerted efforts.
A joint resolution was adopted at the seminar.
